Maybe he will introduce a drinking ban and get someone to take all replacement candidates out on the piss.

The headline states "Roosters won't re-sihne veteran Minichiello", which leads us to believe that the club will not re sign him... right.... ok.... but the article goes on to quote Mini saying....

Which reads as "I want to stay at the roosters but i am also looking for a big final pay cheque before i finally retire".

So can someone please explain to me, is it:

      a) a thinly veiled attempt at another shot at the Roosters for not signing a veteran player?
      b) Just a simple mistake
      c) idiot editors at the tellucrap not proof reading their journo's articles????
All of the above, I suspect.

That's right poor little Toddies was just a babe and only did what Nate Myles said coz' he can't think for himself. Big Bad Braith trapped poor little Todd.

It would be brilliant for Moga's development if Mini was to play outside him. Would bring back memories of '02 Mullins directing his inside centre around! Won't happen though.

Uncle Nick will make the final call.

In fact the deal has probably already been done.

You're most likely right. I also think Mario is spot on when he says it (the telecrap story) is a thinly veiled dig at the club for not signing him already.

Maybe you need to replace your sarcasm with a sense of humour.

Sorry, didn't realise you were joking. I thought I was replying sarcastically to your own sarcastic comment about Anasta. If you weren't intending to be sarcastic, I take back my sarcasm.

I dont think a deal has already been done, if it has uncle Nick has probably already told Mini they are looking at younger options and his days are over. If you think about it Mini has never been one to go to the media about his contract issues because he always dealt with it directly with the club in private.

So im assuming Roosters have told him, "Thanks for your loyal service over the years, but its time to move on" and he is trying to fish any interest out to see if he can get any offers.

he is eligible for the veteran exemption and, given his age, his market value would have to be sub $200k which means $100k on the cap - pretty much minimum wage.

So, why not another year or two on the wing - Mullos style?

                              I like this!
Given that we will have a very young team, an older head to guide the centres is not such a bad idea.

He will get bought by another club maybe on a 2 year contract so in the long run they might be doing him a favour.
