    Im not going anywhere. I’m just a fan like everyone else here and have no responsibility in the decisions of the club and it would be cold comfort to just accept that we will be strong for a decade. Fans want results now and next year will be next year. That’s the reality of a successful club, not a club like the tigers.

      That b2b will stay with me for life. Even without the injury toll it's unrealistic to expect to win it every year. It's a goal the Roosters set themselves but it's a case of aim as high as you can. Great culture. I don't think we have to wait 10 years just some luck on the injury front

        I'm not seeing any corner cutting at all.. Quite the opposite. They are trying their guts out but have been ravaged by injuries and are copping a beating from the referees every week. The following doesn't look like corner cutting to me:

        JWH playing 80 mins last week;
        Manu stepping up and putting in stellar performances in multiple positions;
        Butcher making 70 tackles against the Eels;
        SST playing with busted ribs;
        Teddy trying too hard if anything..

        Anyway, my point is the deck has been massively stacked against us this year. It is remarkable that we are still in the mix with the degree of injuries sustained. Penrith were hopeless without their origin players the last two weeks. We just haven't had anything go our way this year, but at least our next layers of depth have gained invaluable experience and performed admirably in doing so... Which I think was the point of the thread.

            Defence totally irrelevant? People notice Penrith for their attack, but their game is built on their defence. It is one of the stingiest I've ever seen. Possibly the best since our 2003 team.

              Nothing to do with Robbo understanding the game.
              He actually understands it better than most.
              If we had no injuries like the Panthers do you think the way the game has changed dramatically that we would have had the same result tonight or we would be 5th on the ladder or we wouldn't be $3 to win the whole thing?

                Well said. If we are injury free next season and with our good and now experienced depth, plus a new buy or two we should favourites.

                  Gotta love fans coming on here suggesting our three time premiership winning coach and arguably the most intelligent man in the game doesn’t understand the game. Love it!

                  Let’s sack Robbo and hire Barrett or Brown or Green.

                  “Defence is completely irrelevant.” That’s up there with Manu to hooker and Teddy is our worst ever buy.

                    I keep hearing it on sports shows from commentators that aren't ex Roosters players and often have a bit of go at the sombrero issue just for a laugh but one thing I hear a lot is that 'if the Roosters wouldn't be going through this injury crisis, they would still be the favourites to win the comp' so this notion that we should be exited about being a powerhouse for the next decade is cold comfort because who knows what could happen in the next decade...Imagine if we still had injuries to key players that would derail every seasons chances over the next decade? Imagine where will we be in the next decade? Roosters fans want a title this year, and next year we will want it when we are there and so on...Only fans from losing clubs can hope for a title in 5 years....43 for souffs fans.

                      at the start of every year the number one aim is to win the comp for the year, the number two aim is to be in a position to perform well in subsequent years. no doubt the club will have it's eye on the next few years but, you're right, we're in 2021 and we have to make the most of this year.

                      it's always 'one game at a time' no matter how good the chances are to win the comp and so it is this year - one game at a time. we get a few blokes back, maybe we get a bit of luck and who knows where we'll end up. storm will struggle with b2b pressures and the panthers are a fair chance of choking again. we need to stay strong and be competitive come semis
