Bargain! Sign him up right away...

Wait don't. We can get Lam, Hutcho and Verrills for less (probably Walker too if we're talking 2021 salaries).

Is it just me or are some clubs uniquely bad at negotiating salaries? Sometimes I wonder if we're really good or other clubs are just... bad.

Meh. Won't broaden this to Cleary (okay I will) but it's as if he royally sabotaged the Tigpies then ran off to a club that magically became invincible as soon as Gus p!ssed off. Good on him I guess but it gives me a lot of faith in our systems that we've enjoyed so much stability under Robbo.

The money they paid for Nico Hynes after half a season was phenomenal.

Would be a good signing for the Sharks, much better halfback than anything they've got at the moment and if they're going to play with a 5/8 who's been converted from fullback you need a strong organiser at halfback.

Surprised Fitzy is letting Johnson go though, thought he had a great year last year and still has quite a bit to offer.

Gus built that club Penrith now are & hopefully he can do the same at the Warriors.

I can't see Pearce coming to the Sharks, well i certainly hope not. He's older than Reynolds and not like we need a short term solution to have a crack. Can't see the Sharks improving too much till the 2nd or 3rd year.

Fifita will probably stick around. He's only got 1 year left on his deal so not a huge advantage off loading that contract. Let him retire a Shark as he doesn't want to play for another club. Of course he might retire this year but he'd be leaving alot of money on the table so can't see it happening. Medical retirement ? perhaps but I don't know the details of trying to do that. Though Inglis medically retired and was then playing in the Super League.

if the warriors held on to all the islanders who have links there, they'd be hard to beat. but they need to get the right coach - brown might be good at rebuilding a club but not sure he can take them to the next level

If I was running the Sharks I would have Connor Tracey at halfback next year with Hynes, I would let Moylan & Johnson go.
What about Duges Sharks will they keep him?

If you look at Gus's efforts at Penrith it took about 7 or 8 years. Setting up a junior development & pathways system & being able to identify the best & keep them takes years so any success the Warriors may get wont come for another 5 maybe 6 years I think.

'Fitzgibbon and Pearce played together in Fitzgibbon's last home game in 2009 against the North Queensland Cowboys. Which contained the most questionable comeback in NRL history'
