that was a great interview, covered alot with the juniors and re-signings.

Sullivan will produce, time is needed !

At least we are heading in the right direction with an emphasis on youth.. The only time we did this properly was in 2000 when we had Flannery, Cross, Crocker, Minichiello, Hegarty, Bonetti etc come through the system and picked up other youngsters like Cayless and Robinson.. However I think we will need to sign a couple experienced players who are not really stars but have a history of a strong work ethic and are team players, not trouble makers. These kids need some guidance.

thanks for posting that, very informative.

From the talk and body language, Willie can go if he wants, Carney is locked in, but with a very tight contract, Wing, only on our terms.

                I rate O'Sullivan, he's a mailman.

From what I took from it:

                  - Todd Carney seems all but signed, while Mason is good as gone
                  - He highly rates Boyd Cordner and Mose Masoe
                  - Mini will stay on an incentive based deal

I only wish he had mentioned what we are doing with Luke Towers and Anthony Cherrington.

tell the bloke who interviewed him to get a nose job.

Either that or start hammering Sinex.

Crickey, he sounded like he had a peg on his nose.

Our biggest issue is still outside backs.

We have plenty of props - Frank-Paul Nuuausala, Lopini Paea, Nate Myles as the first-graders, then Jared Warea-Hargreaves, Martin Kennedy, Stanley Waqa, Isaac Maliota, Andrew Clayton, Tom Pelo and Dane Cordner in the lower grades.

We also have plenty of backrowers - Mitch Aubusson, Setaimata Sa, Nick Kouparitsas, Anthony Cherrington as regular firstgraders, and loads of lower-grade kids like Tom Symonds, Mose Masoe, Dylan Sharp, Boyd Cordner, Rohan Ahern, Matthew Hall and Jerome Leolahi.

                      But jeez...outside backs anyone?

Nothing there at all...not nearly enough to be solid for a regular FG squad.

Are Towers and Blair re-signed for next year?

I liked the look of Anthony Gelling as well, pretty crafty and skillful centre...

Gelling looks ordinary at the moment he hasn't done much in the u 20's. I know some people rate alot of our 20's player but the fact is we are running near last. Most of those players will never play 1st grade.

Towers does some good things but he is already 20 and he can't get a look in. The blokes ahead of him are easily better and they are only in their early 20's themselves. Wouldn't suprise me if he isn't kept and it wouldn't worry me either.

The one that looks the goods is Cordner, he only played half a game in the under 20's before getting injured. Yet at only 17 he already looked a class above of anything we have.
