  • I'm on the Riff bandwagon

Not because I like them. In fact I kinda low key hate them. For 2003, the over-rated Sattler tackle which gets replayed ad nauseaum, the punk Luai and mainly being a bogey team for us.

But our hard fought back to back is at stake. I'd hate to give this up to Melbourne so quickly.

If not us, I'd rather Parra win it this year. But they will be canon fodder to Melba.

So unless Robbo can conjure up a miracle to rival the prophet Moses, it's go Penrith from me?

No. The 6-again was brought in to kill the Roosters/Storm defensive dominance much like the Surrender Tackle interpretation was changed in 2005 to kill Roosters/Bulldogs dominance.

Storm were good enough to exploit the short-comings last year which would have caused PVL and co an extreme amount of butthurt. For that reason I will still be cheering on the Storm.

The only other exception is Manly rejoining the Roosters/Storm dominance. Faark PVL and his premiership merry-go-round idiots who are destroying the game.

i was going for the panthers in last year's gf and would go for them again if they play the storm but that's a long way away and neither team is a sure thing to even make the gf.
i'm looking forward to see what we can do this year. too early to say what each club's fit 17 will look like in 4 months time but at this stage i'll be satisfied if we make the 8 and happy if we make the second week of the semis. but way too early to know what the landscape will be in september and that might change

          Here's one from left field.

I actually fancy the Roosters chances.

If Chooks are not in the GF I will be neutral on who wins.

That's what I like to read. Cheers to the Sunshine Coast contingency . I ain't jumpin' on anyone else's bandwagon. I'm monogamous. Roosters or.......nuthin'

I’ll go for the ‘other’ team if Souffs managed to get past their Prelim Final 3peet!

If we can get our best 17 on the park I fancy our chances. Verrills at 9, Cordner back, would have Keighran at 6 with Lam at 14. I liked Lam coming off the bench last year and Keighran at 6 means he can kick goals.

When they announced the shorter season I knew Melbourne were home..will not be the same this year surely penriff must win the comp..I can not see anyone matching them ..but you know the odd shock upset does happen..
Only if we could play these two pricks at full strength.

Haha yeah same... mid-2021, we're 5th and we'll wake up 4th tomorrow morning if things go our way (i.e. Souffs lose and we win).

Yes the Riff's having another good season, as is Melbourne. So what? Last time I checked I'm an Easts member and will be supporting them, regardless of how the season's going.

We've had much worse seasons than 2021. IMO Penrith and Melbourne are the standard to beat. I very much hope that we step it up a notch once Cords, Verrills, Rads, Crichton and Smith return.

Easts are never robotically consistent and stupid losses to bottom-2 teams ALWAYS bite our bum. However, we're competitors. Talk to your average Faders fan around Canberra and they've already decided we're gonna put 50 on them before the game's even started. IMO we're harder on ourselves than others are because we're a competitive team that always plays for premierships. Meanwhile, Pemriff's still churning through its '5 year plan' to win that premiership. It'd be nice for their fans, but the closest I'll get to supporting the Riff is snatching a freebie chocolate Oak before the game.

Summing it up perfectly there. As I said to my Raiders mate, we win grand finals but don't win games at Gosford. Some on here obviously haven't lived through lean years as a Roosters fan.
