That probably explains our position on the ladder.

We'd have to lead in penalties conceded as well surely?
And we'd have to have been the ONLY team penalised for throwing the ball away (Pearce did it a couple of weeks ago).

All defensive issues. having no defensive coach produces theses stats

            Bring back Pay.

If Pay is not around, go hard for Trevor Gillmeister

We would have to come close to leading the drop ball count as well.

I'm willing to bet we lead in the most dropped ball on the 1st and 2nd tackle count.

So this is a coaching issue?

Why isn't it a player problem of commitment to each other?

The inept defence on our line can be put down to lack of committment by the players. It has been u10's rubbish although the defence on Sat night was a marked improvement

That said, our defensive structure needs further improvement. We have simply leaked too many points. I have questioned on many occassions why we don't have a forwards/defensive coach.

If you're trying to have me blame the coach, I have never said the coach is blameless. He needs help. A defensive assistant coach for starters. I'm just not short sighted to blame the coach for a loss and praise the players for a win.

I see with your defensive tone and mis-directed anger, that you'd be the best candidate for the job.

How many NRL clubs have 'defensive coaches' full time or at least half time?

I think 2. And they are both big spending news Ltd owned clubs. That's rather telling isn't it...

                            Do you know of more?

Stuart doesn't have any, Sheens, Elliot, Henry, Cleary, Bennett, Taylor, Anderson, Hasler, Cartwright doesn't (i think, not sure about Titans). Henjack does and so does Bellamy.

Thanks for the endorsement Gary. You know how much I value your opinion so I really appreciate it. You might be lucky and I'll allow you to be the tackling bag

Titans have Gilly. Taylor has Tallis. Anderson has Fairleigh. Dogs have Dymock as assistant and covering that role - these are just off the top of my head.

We were the best defensive team in the early 2000's. We had forwards/defensive coach then - 2 in fact. Pay and Cartwright. We need to instil that steel in defence
