I went and saw the game and I cant see morts as Hooker the kid is a lightweight and cant tackle to save his own life. At FB he was not tested, I think he is quick over a short distance not long range. At 5/8 he looked OK he played nice and fast which I liked.

Anyone who know anything about rugby would say that he is one of the most overrated rugby players ever. He is 34 now and his club Racing-Metro sacked him hence why no club wants to sign him up. Rarely did anything spectacular at international level for France. Explains why they didn't pick him in the World Cup squad.

Will he be fullback next year do we think?
Maloney 6, Pearce 7 is almost certain and surely Friend as an 80 minute hooker, or Mitchell as an impact hooker will be of more use, maybe...

Then the brains trust go and sign Maloney from the Warriors. It's got me completely stumped. If they wanted utility value, Mitchell was doing fine as far as I'm concerned. If I were Mortimer, well, I'd be looking to go elsewhere as the Roosters isn't the place to regain the number 6 jumper unless something premature/untoward happens to Anasta AND Pearce because Anasta has the 6 now and Pearce should have it in 2013 with Maloney to wear the 7. As for positions 1 and 9, they are also well covered in 2013. I see no light at the end of the tunnel here.

Their is a chance if Mortimer does fire that Maloney's career at the Roosters could turn pear shape.

I hope not though because I think Maloney is a top 5/8 & should be the NSW 5/8 this year & hopefully next year too.

                Morts 6
                Maloney 7
                Friend 9
                Pearce 13

That's how it should be next year.

I think Pearce has all the tools to be Lock, and i think one day he will play lock.....Only problem is i dont think his big enough yet..But defensivly he would be very good there.

FWIW he kicked 4 from 5 in the most recent trial and scored tries in both trials.
I didn't see him but 4 from 5 is promising if they weren't all from right under the posts. Anybody see him kicking? I don't really think we have any solid kickers right now. If he's sort of a HB, FE and FB who can give Anasta/Pearce/Mini a rest at any given time and nail a high percentage of kicks then I'm all for him!!

                        ^^^

Pearce isn't still growing upwards. He COULD turn into a JC but I kinda like his current weight and don't really feel he would gain by bulking up (just lose speed + possibly injure himself doing all the extra weights...etc.)

Hollywood will swan back following his media appearances & pick his preferred position...

Having watched Morts last night & Maubs epic performance on Lawrence I assume Smith will be tempted to get on his knees & beg hollywood play back row.

A healthy SKD will result in Morts or Mitchell fighting for a place on the bench.

He has to just tell Anasta that he wants in in the backrow. If he spits the dummy, don't play him.

If only it was that easy, Uncle Nick and Braith are like J Edgar Hoover and Clyde Tolson.

“I thought (Mortimer) was good again tonight, but that wont change our minds about Braith,” he said.

“He’s not only our five eighth, but he’s our captain and our goal-kicker.

That's a quote from Brian last night, Bwaith's going to be the 6 and honestly with the depth in the backrow that's where he has to play.
