The good news is souffs are goneski, the bad news is so is this league....so boring, so predictable...so farged..blow outs every week.

I can tell you how to make games more interesting, and its the complete opposite to the visions of the V-man and his idiotic new rules.
First of all ,get rid of the 6 again rule, the 40/20 kick advantage (how pathetic - just for a good kick?) , 2 point 40 metre field goal (is also stupid).
Encourage , rather than discourage, hard defence. Allow shoulder charges (as long as they are not around the head) There was nothing illegal about them in the first place. Encourage hard, fierce tacking as much as possible ( but with a proviso that you stop head high and illegal stuff), rather than discourage an essential part of our game. Its what the fans want to see.
Then you go back to the old rules, designed to bring unpredictability back into the game.
At the moment you have teams ensuring they complete their set of 6 , getting field position, and rolling the ball into the in- goal ( all coached instructions - predictable and boring as shyte)
What happens if you have defence up in your face, or less tackles to play with - you chance your arm and do something unpredictable to break up the defence?.
You might try an offload, a chip kick (all unpredictable). You are more likely to do this if you can get the ball back after a mistake. How about contested scrums ( more unpredictability ?)
You might go back to a 5 metre rule (and the games will be a war of attrition) and the scores will be close, and when a team scores a try it will be on the back of some interposed brilliance from the attacking team.
How boring would that be - 5 metre rule and 5 tackle rule , and tough, hard and close games of football, with a couple of brilliant tries to top it off.
But that would be a whole lot more boring than the modern entertainment , where we see 8 and possibly up to 15 tries scored in one game of football , because both teams are playing touch footy.
Every try almost looks the same as the one before, but hey I'm not complaining - its really exciting to watch.
And there was a game in 1965 at the SCG and rumour has it that 80,000 people packed into the ground and they were sitting on the rooftops to watch it - all played under the old rules.
No, you needed to change all this , the rules were ancient and outdated. v'landys and his cronies over the last 40 years were right - if you didn't change the rules, the game would be dead, and the people would have stayed away in droves.
Gee I'm glad you're not running the game

All good and it was enjoyable to watch but they are down on troops that will come back. Ours are out for the year or out for good so they are no longer in the equation.
And how are we going to deal with them? We have 7 rounds to get our shit together. Apart from skills and experience in the big games, which we can match, what they have is 4 cunning players on the field. J Hughes, Munster, B Smith and Grant. These guys are thieves and when they see an opportunity, they'll pull your pants down. We can't match them there. We have a young Walker who should be as influential or more like those 4 but is still learning and has that busted shoulder and who knows how long that will last. Radley could be considered cunning but I don't think he's at the same level as those Storm players. We need an experienced pickpocket, pronto but that won't be enough so our next game v Storm will be determined by Robbo. Lets hope that even with all of these injuries and diseases, he is planning ahead to win, and not submit.

Why don’t we just ban men from playing the game and limit it to women only. But they must all be a 10 out of 10 and they must all play completely naked. Who wouldn’t watch that!

People whinging about it being a 3 or 4 horse race...that's been the fabric of the game since 1908.

            In 1980s it was Cant/Parra 2 horse
            90s Bri and Can
2000 up has seen Easts and Melb win 8, but 12 others also.

I won't even mention the one horse comp of 50s and 60s during Saints reign.

When was the last time a team won 2 in a row before us?

You look at euro soccer and its always the same teams apart from epl (and that's only the last few years).

            Or Patriots dominance of NFL.

I reckon the NRL is one of the most open comps in world sport.

That was some export grade schadenfreude last night. I loved every minute of seeing the vermin get embarrassed and my only regret is that it was at the hands of the drizzle and not the Roosters.

How insufferable is the Gould, Warren and Johns call team?

Listening to Gus harp on incessantly about Munster's kicking technique was punishing.

Worse was the Batman to'ing and fro'ing he had with Joey.

                  Unlistenable.

The wounds from the drubbing we copped last year haven't fully healed.

Seeing them lose like this accelerates the healing process.

I found it funny how social media and journos were saying the difference was Reynolds and how could they get rid of him.
Like Reynolds was going to stop 50 points on his own.

Of course no mention that the Storm unfortunately having their best player out which would have made the score even sweeter.

Of course it's just a stat - just highlighting how much of a big deal was made over it when it was us, and I don't believe it was mentioned last night once by Gus and co on 9. Fox team did mention it though.

Just a reminder that the Roosters are missing their 1st choice second rower, 1st choice hooker, 2nd choice hooker, 3rd choice hooker, 3rd choice middle, 1st choice half, 2nd choice half, 1st choice winger, 3rd choice centre and only lost to this the storm by 14... Souffs have no excuse

And if we had of had 2 disallowed tries, which in my RWB eyes were legitimate, allowed, it might have just been 2 points that we lost by.

And that was after the Storm had all the position and possession, penalties and every bounce of the ball go their way.

Not to mention it was only the second game for the Walker and Hutch combo.

Absolutely! I've been saying all this for years. Under the 10 metre rule we have evolved to this play-the-ball at breaknet speed stuff, which has led to teams unable to get back onside, which has led to wrestling, which has led to the 6-again rule (and plenty of mistakes in the play-the-ball). If I wanted to watch touch football I'd go to Centennial Park.
