  • Tautau Moga in trial game.

He was absolutely brutal. From his first ball receive he was throwing defenders off him in all directions, on the second receive he ran about 30 metres sideways then another 20 metres forwards. Later on Made a linebreak and try-assist. This kid is unreal. Good defensive reads too.

    Edit:

Forgot to add, he constantly reminds teammates to stay onside and get back on the 10. Very good communication. I could see him pointing to offside teammates and screaming.

saw the highlights on FSN last night, he has certainly grown in the off-season, its scary to think he is just a baby

Smith's comments were funny, he was saying they hadn't decided whether Moga was going to play NYC/First Grade to start the season, while having a massive grin on his face.

Yep, I get the impression he will play!

He will almost certainly start at left centre in round 1. He showed yesterday that he can more than handle playing against first graders. Looked bigger than last year and easily as quick. To get around Michael Lett with speed that easy is no mean feat.

Will be tested in defence a lot more by Ayshford next weekend but looked comfortable due to his strength. Knew when to come up and in. Shut down one Keating raid in the second half, who actually looked very dangerous running across field.

One other thing I noticed was how niggly he is in the tackle. Actually punched a Bulldogs played coming into a tackle lol. And on the ground he was probably close to get called for holding down a couple of times.

Also guys get used to thinking he's injured himself every tackle. Doesn't struggle on the ground at all and never has. Looks like he's down something bad every time he's tackled. It's excruciating lol.

This is what we signed POS for.. he found Folau/Inglis and now he's found someone that is at least half as good as them.

Don't get ahead of yourselves. Moga may have shown some good signs from the reports some have written but once Round 1 comes it's a different ball game.

He sounds like an exciting prospect however whenever I get too excited I think of Soliola and that brings me down to earth.

After seeing how much bigger he is this year, I was thinking the same thing. Very rare for such a big player to make it as an outside back.

Reminds me of Mark Harris oir Noel Cleal, Big fast and powerful centres.

I just hope he keeps his speed and agility. Otherwise he will struggle in defence with the quicker centres beating him with footwork. We need a quick, explosive centre - not another wide running backrower.

Even Inglis was not as effective last year (when he was on the field) when he was carrying too much weight.

We haven't had a decent centre since Hodges. If he's as good as Harris or Cleal I might have to reevaluate this team.
