  • COVID Sydney: Roosters to be tested after positive case visits Moore Park cafe

The entire squad and staff of the Sydney Roosters are facing a COVID scare after the man at the centre of the most recent outbreak visited a Moore Park cafe. Latest here.

The entire Sydney Roosters playing squad and coaching staff will undergo COVID tests this morning before Friday night’s match against the Parramatta Eels.

It follows confirmation from NSW Health that an eastern suburbs man, who has tested positive to COVID, visited a Moore Park cafe on Monday where the players regularly have coffee.

All staff members in the Roosters’ administration have been told not to go to work on Thursday and will also be tested.

Azure cafe was listed on the NSW Health website on Wednesday night.

It is a cafe in the entertainment quarter in Moore Park where the Roosters’ offices are located.

A planned function at the Easts Leagues Club in Bondi Junction at lunch time has been cancelled.

NRL Head of Football Graham Annesley was alerted late last night of a potential problem

“We’re doing everything we can to get more information about the movement of players,” Annesley said.

“We were alerted late last night and we will take all precautionary steps as soon as possible.”

The NRL and the Roosters will issue a statement later today.

Why aren't they going to Friends CAFE - mmm that buggers up the prep for game even if it's raining - It can take from 1 to 2 days for test results to come back meaning the game could possibly be postponed

How do you know they don't during other times? Jake's cafe is at Randwick Children's Hospital which is not right near the training grounds. Of course they are going to frequent one at Moore Park while they are there.

The gentleman in question went to the movies at Bondi Junction on Friday night. Doubt very much if a Vermin fan would have the intellect to sit through The Courier. If it was Gold Class, there is your answer anyway...

If the game is postponed Sitili will miss the next game instead- if game is postponed i will suggest they will play it after round 15 (17th to 20th June ) on either 24/25/26th June as there is an all team SOO bye the weekend of 24/25/26 June - SOO is played on Sunday 27th June as a standalone match.

So we play them in R20 on 27-JUL-2021 so you think we should play them on the 26th and then 27th?
I think we just play them on 27th July for 4 points. Winner take all. We should have Cordner, Verrills, Sitili and TJ by then.

Went to a few BBQs Galore stores. The following day went to a butcher so must have found his BBQ !
