Love what they have done for the club and have learnt to really appreciate what they offer but I say no to resigning. I think the cons outweigh the benefits. We are in transition from the wonderful 2010s group that delivered 3 premierships and 3 other prelims. Time to move on and continue to invest in the young ones.
as much as it is a cruel way for BMoz to go out I am more shattered about Lindsay. He was just realising his enormous potential and this is a big set back for the future. However Jared and TKO came back well from ACLs so I am sure he will as well. 6 ACLs in 2 years? Do we look at our strength and conditioning programs.

borris should come back next year and get his 300 games up currently on 277.

I would be happy to re-sign them both again at the right price. If BMoz can retire on his terms, then transition into coaching with us, that would be fantastic. I also hope that JMoz gets his chance to jag that elusive premiership. We will sort something out once the dust settles and emotions calm.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Thinking about the absolute quality of both the Moz boys, and their honesty, I think the club would look favourably on re signing them if they wanted to play. The benefit of having them around is greater that just their onfield performances. If BMoz gets through the rehab, and tells the club he wants to be available for round 10 on next season, then I reckon they will keep $200K for him, and $300 for BMoz.

Agreed. Why not? He's a competitor and it would be awesome for him to make himself a legacy like that.

If he wants to keep playing, there's no reason why we should release him IMO. If he was thinking about re-signing before the injury then why not stick to the plan and keep working towards that goal?

It is a nice sentiment. Ruptured ACLs post 30yrs of age are very difficult to come back from. Not forgetting that the NRL is the toughest contact sport in the world.

At that price it's a no brainer to re-sign both if they want to go around again.

There are blokes like Cotric on twice as much but aren't even half the player.
The Dogs have basically ruined that poor bastard. They should be paying him 4 times as much simply in compensation!

                      Very well said!

If Josh decides at the end of the year that he wants to go around again then its a no brainer. His positional play, experience and most importantly his form warrants another contract if he want to go around in 2022.

Judging by Bretts reaction says he knows its the end.

Either way i hope the club can keep them both at the club in some capacity

His face showed pain of the injury with the realisation that he had committed to end his playing career this year and this injury just sped up that process much to his disappointment because he won't fulfil his goals for this year however he isn't a doctor so he won't be able to tell how he will recover. Time will tell but the club making an offer to them will not be the worst thing they could do.

I’m thinking if it was me, I wouldn’t want to finish my career on such a note and sign up for another year so as to finish on my terms.

He's on our books until the end of 2021 unless we medically retire him (which we wouldn't get any 2021 cap relief for anyway). During this time he'll show up to rehab (available to help Keary through his injury) and will be training his body to be fit for professional footy.

IMO the alternative to re-signing him is medically retiring him so that he doesn't have to do all that work for nothing. To me retirement's his decision to make, not the club's. Guessing he doesn't know the answer to whether he wants to walk down that path yet.

The tears in his eyes said a lot, but things will settle down and I'm sure he'll make the right decision.

Reading between the lines of Robbos post match presser I think the possibility of Bmoz coming back next year is zero. Robbo spoke of how you don’t always get the fairytale finish to a career. He stated Jake didn’t get it and neither has Brett. He then said that is if it’s what we think the injury is. Robbos words imply that there won’t be another year for Bmoz.
Its heartbreaking but I think it’s probably better not to hold out hope for him to return.

That’s right. He’s said he wants to coach. We need an assistant coach. He’s too selfless to run around another year. And too shattered that he didn’t go out on his terms.

                                Do it for Josh!
                                ..it’ll be interesting to see
