The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have held off a fast finishing Sydney Roosters outfit 36-34 in the third game of Back to Belmore day at Belmore Sports Ground.
The Bulldogs hit the lead on the cusp of half time and then recovered from a quick fire Roosters try after the break to run away to a 14 point lead with 10 minutes remaining.
They then held on as the Roosters came hard at the finish, weathering the storm to claim a two point win.
The Roosters went length of the field to open their account after just six minutes, winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck touching down 90 metres after swooping on a Bulldogs mistake.
David Klemmer levelled it up a 6-apiece with a try beside the posts for the Bulldogs five minutes later, only for opposing prop Brandon Tago to steam over to give the Roosters a 10-6 lead after 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs hit the front through a converted try to Moses Mbye approaching the half hour, before Roosters half Ryley Jacks scored and converted to make it 16-12.
But the Dogs would head into the break ahead by two with a sweet Mbye short ball putting James Ralphs over, with Freddie Robinson making it three from three with the boot for a 18-16 buffer.
It took just 40 seconds for the Roosters to open their second half account, winger Javid Bowen finishing off an expansive movement with a try under the posts.
That sparked the Bulldogs into action, crossing for three straight tries through Blake Carter, Mbye and Matthew Fukofuka to establish a 36-22 lead.
Tries to Chris Stanway and Dean Blackman gave the Roosters hope inside the final ten minutes of play, with Tuivasa-Sheck converting both to make it 36-34.
In the ned an impeccable six from six with the boot from Bulldogs half Freddie Robinson got the home side home, two points the difference in the final wash up.

Those scorers names are completely wrong. RTS did not score or kick a goal, Clarrie Moore scored not Blackman, Rokolati scored and was exceptional all game.
Rona was the best on the field for mine. He only played for about 30 mins but made 3 breaks and set up 2 tries. Kane Evans was extremely dominant also. Way too good for 20s level. Was making 15 metres plus each run and gave numerous offloads in his 20 mins. Will probably get in the first grade trial. Corey McGrady played very well and scored a great solo try running to the line. Jacks did not score but will get time in the firsts trial. RTS is in no. 4 for the first grade trial. Littlejohn is playing in firsts. Also playing firsts will be Henry, Tupou, Tago, Liu, Bosden, Ben Loxley and Blackman. The boys look keen!!! Also, Pearce and Anasta are not playing. Perrett is.
