The ref was shit but he didn't miss a kick for touch and even when we got 6 again we couldn't hang on to the ball. Ref wasn't why we lost.

Not the reason we lost by any means, but a poor performance to miss things like that. I think we're allowed to expect better from them...

Agreed. We didn't play well enough to win.

The ref was not the reason we lost but he may have been the reason we didnt win.

I watched the game and there seemed to be a lot of Melb forwarded passes that were let go. Did anyone else feel the same?

The reason i think is we dont act in trying to play the ball quickly, we seem happy to have a rest.
Melbourne on the other hand are actors and it pays off.

100%, whilst the count may look favourable the timing and position of the restarts are early in the count.

The first half was diabolical. Rads sin bin was wrong, and to have to defend with only 12 men sapped a lot of the energy which got us in the end.

Its really frustrating to blame a ref because to be fair we made silly errors, and storm did play well. But if there was a bit more of the 50/50 calls that actually went both ways it may have impacted the game.

Storm are a blight on the game and Gee is just a dumbass who goes along with their charade. Munster should be binned for putting his arms up in despair claiming 6 again every time we made a tackle. Clearly coached by that shrivel head Bellamy. They even wrestle with the ball, play the ball off the mark and to the side so dummy half has a clear run in front. Another master stroke by Martina Navratilova Bellamy. Storm ruined game by introducing wrestling, yet have least 6 agains given against them. Well done Storm.

Stop being a bunch of useless sooks.

The ref didn't drop the ball last night. He didn't throw a forward pass, he didn't miss a kick for touch, he didn't make a high tackle.

He did make a few mistakes as all refs will.

Our lack of ball control and our injuries killed us.

Even with a so called bias ref we could have won that game if we controlled the ball.

                  100%.

How many times in that game were we defending our mistakes. The game was so tight that you can't keep squandering possession. They had 60% possession and still with our patched up side we kept holding them out but that's not gonna last and we got smoked, but other sides would have crumbled way earlier.

Not arguing that. But the loss of the 50/50 calls didn’t help our cause. Do you think Rads sin bin was the right call?

That forces the rest of the team to cover the loss. To be fair they did a cracking job to not concede a try. By the time he’s back the squad, particularly the middle are fatigued, we stay on the back foot and that impacts the second half energy considerably.

I agree we didn’t help ourselves. Storm played well, they executed when it count. BUT would the sin bin changed the game? Would the try to Manu changed momentum? Would the turn over from Hughes created an opportunity?

Its ok to say we didn’t take our chances, but I disagree some calls don’t impact on the game.

I don't think anybody here is arguing that the ref lost us the game. But I take exception to the line in bold... Not even checking the Manu no try is inexcusable.

He did. He said it was up to the refs to explain why Radley was sent off and the "victim" who was supposedly knocked out cold came back on after the send off.

Also he referred to Storm not conceding a single set restart in the second half. A subtle reference to their lightning play the balls compared to ours.

But yes he is very subtle about it, and doesn't blame the loss on it like Ricky.

It was checked because WE CHALLENGED IT. Should never have gotten to that point. Adam Gee couldn't wait to blow the penalty.

Can someone tell me when the offside rule changed. I thought it was as long as part of the body is behind the ball

The bunker thought they were the VAR in soccer
