As you said no one cared about us when we were crap but now we have been at the top for years everyone hate us.

We will eventually be all so runs and won't be hated when that happens, it happens with all teams and will happen to Melbourne too once Bellamy retires.
Look at other teams who have had more success then failure, Brisbane and Manly aren't hated as much these days in fact some people feel sorry for them.
