The Waverley Bowling development got the go ahead though.
I think originally there was to be another Roosters club on that site - but I heard a bunch of Souffs Vermin supporters petitioned Waverley council to reject the application on the basis that they don't have a club so why should the Chooks be allowed to have 2 in Sydney.MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

As I remember it, Easts used to have a disco/nite club, but it became 'rough' and someone was stabbed on the dance floor.
It was closed.
Several renovations have been tried at Easts over the decades, some worked out better than others.
Times change, these days people have very comfortable homes, big screen HD tvs, Foxtel, Netflix, Stan, Kayo etc.
Mrs BB just informed me that in her opinion, "the leagues club at Panthers is ....." not so nice, shall we say.
What are most leagues clubs in essence?
Pokies, bars, meals.
I like Easts Leagues Club (even before the renovations).
It's a place one can go for peace and quiet...sit in the lounge at Bronte Rd entrance, watch tv, read the paper, have coffee, drink, light meal.
If I were a "Van lifer" ...no home, living in a van with shower, the leagues club would be my 'home'.
Got meals, tv, lounge, toilets.
Park the van in a street, catch bus to club, relax, watch tv, have lunch, shop at westfield etc, back to club for afternoon tea, then dinner sometimes, back to van to sleep.
Back at club at 9am.

Sadly Mrs Hands would not be so enthusiastic with the van life.Originally posted by jism
I saw Reynolds crying in front of me after the game and yelled out 'WHAT ARE YOU CRYING ABOUT?!?!? GO SAY SORRY TO COOPER YOU GRUB!!!' He looked up at me with a pretty broken looking face.

Crikey BB, you've almost described my ideal retirement. Add in a swim at the pool upstairs (is that still there?), and a few good books and I'll be right there.
Sadly Mrs Hands would not be so enthusiastic with the van life.

They come lined so you can fill them up with ice then put your beers in it for when Ol Skeletor, Big Sammy, Latrell & Cody come around to your joint.
