  • Cordner

I was hoping Jake would retire, knowing full well how much weaker it leaves us.

I am being an optimist and hoping, partly because of his younger age, that Cords is able after his recovery to take the field again.

Already Radley has changed the look of the team in defence and attack. Think of a fresh and fit Cords slotting in. And Verrills too.

We may turn out to be quite the nuisance to those pesky wabbits, the drizzle and the pamfers.

Let’s hope so. Obviously it will take him a few weeks to get up to speed, also. He will be a massive in for us. A true leader!

I will be nervous every time he runs the ball or makes a tackle. One more knock and it’s all over.

A back row of Cords, Angus and Radley, with Sitili and Butch on the bench? That's pretty impressive.

Yes definitely. But I'm prepared to bet he won't be holding back though.

Robbo mentioned the other day that Cordner will start integrating back into team training in about 2 weeks time as he ramps up his return to play protocols set out by the club.

I still think Cords should retire.

Thirteen makes a very valid point - as soon as he gets another head knock (which you would think will happen) it will be all over. If not from personal or medical advise, the trial by media will end his career even if it’s one game back.

However I hope he does return and succeeds - he is a great leader on field and one who makes those game changing carries when the game is on the line. He is already a Rooster legend for what he has achieved and he deserves to finish his career properly. Fingers crossed

Has Cordner mentioned yet if he is playing Origin or not this year?

Sounds a bit convenient that his return lines up with the round before the 1st game kicks off.

I understand he is the current captain but imo he should sit this year out and just focus on club footy.

It would be crazy to pick him and I doubt they will.

Not sure how much footy life Cords has left in him. I doubt it's much more, as many do, but he may prove us wrong.

So in your first para NC, which I agree with...Cords would be better to retire one knock early, than one knock late.

I think its easy to forget how good Cordner is sometimes and how much he offers to the team. Its bad enough to lose Jake. If we get Cordner back and fit it will be massive. Of course I'm concerned with his concussion situation. It seems inevitable though that if you play NRL you will experience a head knock sooner or later. 20 concussions for Jake is frightening.

                          Insulting comment this.

And do you really think NSW would choose a bloke who has played one game prior to game 1?

                            should he return? i don't know - that's a decision for him and i'm not a doctor

It's just an opinion relax, I thought it was just millennials who got insulted over everything they read online.

When it is the current Australian captain yes.
