  • Keighran to return

    Foxsports Journo Darcie McDonald tweeted out this afternoon;

    “Little bit of relief for the Roosters’ hooking troubles with Adam Keighran to return from a wrist injury this week #NRL”

    Would be a very welcome addition this week for us and personally I’m a fan of him. Was when he was at the Warriors and was in that game he partially played with us against Manly. Either fills that 9 spot or move Hutch to 9 and he slots in the halves with Walker. I do not want to see Radley moved to hooker at all. He’s that link between the two halves that is necessary and is wasted at hooker. Either way, Keighran back would be very appreciated!

    I hope he kicks goals too. I know they keep telling us SST is a good goalkicker. I don't have much confidence when I see him step up to the mark.

      She would probably know as her partner is his brother Brad. She was the first to break the story he signed.

        He will probably be eased back in on the bench but it will be interesting to see if he plays at 5/8 when he comes on and whether he starts at 5/8 after this week.
        Hutch has done a good job but he lacks creativity for mine. I'd prefer Hutch on the bench to cover for dummy half.

          You’re spot on. He’s probably one of the best front rowers I’ve ever seen who can kick a goal, but am I filled with confidence every time we go for two points? No. When Maloney and Latrell kicked, it was almost like we knew, 9 times out of 10 that kick was going over. Dragons have that luxury with a player like Lomax, you just know 90%+ of the time, they’ll be getting the full 6 points

              No you do not unsettle the halves pairing. Too disruptive for the team.

                  I want him 5/8 and kicking goals! Leave Sam walker alone with learning to play in the NRL ,not ready for kicking duties responsibilities yet!

                  Adam just brings abit more speed an stronger running being able to play centre with centre speed, Hutchinson can play hooker till verills an Lam are back

                    Hutch and Walker should stay as the halves - depends on the Judiciary on who is the Dummy Half - bench will need to have some size about it though and all 4 used- not sure you would be bringing him into the team for this game.

                      Hence why I proposed the two most likely options, playing at 9 or playing in the halves, and it’ll be likely at the 9. I’d be shocked if Robinson plays him off the bench. We don’t have the players to do that right now

                        Good news....having Keighran, Lam and Verrils back and things start to look a bit brighter. We must be due for some luck on the injury front.

                          He is adequate as a kicker but thats not good enough in tight matches. Although he got us home on Sunday. Keighran seems to kick well and Robbo had him down as a potential dummy half at the start of the year. Great news to have him back now.

                            I'd like to see hutch at #6 and Keighran at #9. He was fit until he got injured in Round One. It would be great if he is ready to slot back in.

                              Keighran is a very good goal kicker.
