  • Anthony Mitchell weak link

I was a little concerned about Anthonys defense in the all star game. He is small and lightly framed and believe he could be a liability in defence. I think there would be slot of traffic targeted at him when he is on the field. What does everyone else think.

Don't agree Prof. He was solid in defense last year and showed plenty of ticker. I don't think we need to worry about A. Mitchell. He should be a handy guy to have in the squad.

He may not play much 1st grade this year if Mortimer becomes Smiths "Koups"..

Good point mate. Jesus I had not considered that. 2010 - Koups, 2011 - Piggy Riddell, 2012 - Daniel Mortimer. Fark fark fark.

Smith has proven to be very stubborn when it comes to playing his chosen dud.

No Fred. I actually agree with you that Smith is ordinary. Perhaps not as bad as you consider him to be but I'm certainly not a fan as such. The way he kept playing Koups and Riddell was painful. At times last year the team appeared to have absolutely no strategy, set plays or ideas. In some way this must be the coach's fault.

You have to admit he played alright.. That little grubber near the line was perfect just lacked support because it was unexpected.. If he can work it into a set play we could have our grubber-near-tryline drought gone and dusted.

Mitchell is very good in D, his attack gets a team on the front foot [ you would know this if you watched him @ roosters in 2011]. Dailey was a good player but aint a coaches arsehole! the difference on sat night was Dailey v Bennet,Dailey is a shite coach and selector..I rest my case!

Disagree. Aside from his missed tackle on Luke Lewis which led to a try, he was solid in defence often lifting & driving the player.

Anthony Mitchell didn't set the world on fire last year i hope Glen Dumbrell gets his chance in the trials he looks like a likely talent.

Mitchell offers very little in attack or defence. Still amazed we picked him up.

                            Jake can play the 80 - he's a machine.
