Defending a half on the wing would be ok early in the tackle count but would get exposed to kicks. A little half would have no chance competing for a high ball with a player of Toups height and aerial skills. Even a long kick early to a speedster like Addo- Carr would be a mismatch.
I think we're just going to have to cop that Walker will be picked on in defence and needs a few more pre seasons to bulk up. The positives in his play will outweigh the negatives.

They swap over late in the tackle count or the winger drops back for the attacking kick or for the end of set general field kick - if teams run the ball on the last the sideline can be used as an extra defender with the sliding and cover defence.

The long early kick for Addo-Carr might be a mismatch even for the winger noting the long kick for Saab and his try in the Warriors vs Manly game.
