Even if Sam was all about money, a bad idea to go to a struggling club too soon in his career. Could potentially bring down his value long term.

It's not this contract renewal I'd worry about, rather the next one, but if they give him a long term deal to go pass the introduction of the 2nd Brisbane team we might be ok.

Once he’s old enough to have stubble he’ll be a dead ringer for the good Lord.

I worry for the kid, there is going to be a drop off at some point and I just hope people will be patient with him.

Tonight was something seriously special, it’s hard to imagine he will top that in his next 50 games but that’s the expectation now.

He was a Roosters fan growing up. Enough said
            ..it’ll be interesting to see

Robbo will stick by him and that's all that matters. A form slump for any player is inevitable.

Some teams like the Broncos and Cowboys will already be offering him a million after tonight.
When he is ready for a million dollar contract Keary will be retiring.

I think the Latrell case was a little different as by all reports he reneged on an initial contract agreement with Nick which is obviously an error on his part..

But considering Sammy is a halfback and their aren’t many gun halfbacks going around I hope the Nick Politis influence ensures he is a Rooster for the rest of his career..

Yes it's different from latrell because Sam doesn't want to be fullback.

I guess I've just got ptsd after losing two generational talents in RTS and Latrell by the age of 21.

Someone will offer the kid 1-1.2m very soon and then who knows. At this stage though the last thing he needs is to sign with a dud team like the Cowboys or Broncos.
People just never understand that we cannot have the very best player in every position, the club has to make very hard decisions.
Storm and the Roosters have done extremely well in cap management.
Yes it hurt to see those two players go, for me especially as Latrell went to the Scum, I am very happy for RTS and he had to do what was best for him but no way could we have matched what NZ offered.
I have been following the Roosters since I moved to Sydney in 1979 my first memory was the loss GF loss to Bulldogs in 1980, we are in such a golden age.
                    Go the Roosters

...and Sammy’s not a traitorous dickhead...

Imagine how awesome our scrum base will be next year with Kez back (probably at 5/8), and Sam at half!!

                        Go the mighty Chooks

I'd like to make special note of Chad Townshend going for Sam's head when he was going across the line and how Sam ducked and scored easily.

Of all the arrogance shown this weekend by some players of other teams, townsends came back to bite him moreso than the others.

Poor bugger I suppose he had right to take exception to jareds treatment of him.

Outshone by a 2nd gamer oof.

roller coaster of a ride for walker - forward pass, missed tackle, head high tackle (which saved a try) then won us the game in the last 20.
if anything, the earlier errors make the good parts even better. he didn't drop his bundle

going forward the big issue is defence. different tackling big guys at practice than in a game. robbo will have a plan

geez would have been something to see Keary & Walker on the field at the same time. Some very serious strike power. Fingers crossed in 2022
