If we kept Flanno over Walker, it would have been the second worst recruiting decision of the past 20 years. Shaded only by the Dogs giving Brent Sherwin 5 years and letting Thurston go.

I counter with Ricky Stuart, when he was Roosters coach, saying to the good Doctor, "I've seen Jonathan Thurston in the under 20's, he's too small. He'll never make it in first grade. I don't want him, thanks."

I think of all those year we were stuck with Finch then Pearce and quietly curse Ricky Stuart.

That's my beef with him too. I thought he tried hard but was a bit limited as a player. The club then did the right thing by him and allowed him to negotiate elsewhere to secure his future and he seemed to spend the next 3 months bashing us in the press with the 'poor little me' attitude.

Flanagan Jnr has been asked by journos as to why he was dropped and I didn’t find any bashing in his response. As for senior Flanno, well I personally haven’t heard anything but regardless, I’m sticking with the facts, and Flanno Jnr did ok for us considering that he was only with us less than 12 months and with so much expectation. His points alone kept us in many games. Whatever happened behind close doors, I have no idea and anything we read here is just conjecture.

My only negative is his apparent love of floating a pass over the top out wide, cutting out a couple of players. It won’t be long before one of those gets picked off and possibly costs us points.
I am quoting myself to eat a bit of the pie.

While i I still think it could be costly, last night those two passes were sublime and no question, won us the game.

Well done kid, the confidence is growing and the future is bright.

I too am not getting caught up in all of the Flanno conjecture, but it is quite plain for all to see that, even at this very early stage, we made the right determination and backed the right horse. To me, our decision has already been vindicated.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
