Yep, just reinforcing the harsh reality of career football for some. I mean, look at Jakes career, its awesome yet we arent ready to say goodbye. Hard enough not seeing maubs out there and also cordner.

All Nine have said is that Friend is edging closer to a decision with the club saying he owes them nothing and he needs to think about life after footy. Not reading anything into it but I think the club may make a decision for him if he doesn't.

If his body is up to it hopefully he will retire at the end of the year and maybe has a couple of months off before playing again.

It would be a massive boost if he and Cordner are able to play on in the second half of the season.

Would be amazing and a fitting end to a champion of the club.

He seems quite versatile. What’s his best position? 14?
                    ..it’ll be interesting to see

I think he will retire and I also think they will recruit another hooker for this season.

But I won't be judging a rookie hooker this early. No way.
Agreed, he is doing a good job in the circumstances but has a long way to go.

Yes, we need another good hard middle forward before we need another hooker.

He's been a good captain and great workhorse for the Roosters. Anyone that can retire with three premierships when some of the greatest of the game have had none deserves commendation.
Well said Johnny. I love Jake. He is often maligned but he has been a consistently high quality hooker for the last 8 years. The only time he is down on form is usually when he is carrying an injury. The bloke is as tough as any to have played the game, he is a three time premiership player and a state of origin winner. He is probably the best footballer to ever come out of Cooroy and the Noosa-Cooroy Pirates.
will be sad to see him go but Good luck to him if he goes

Lots of hookers. We could open up a brothel.

Doubt it. An experienced 6 would be more like it.
