  • Calls I disagreed with...

Just thought I'd have a whinge about our 46-4 win because... YOLO. IMO...

    - Sitili scored. The ball was batted out of his right hand and either remained in his left hand or was batted forward by the opposition into his left hand. Also, the video ref called it after the try had already been awarded (weirdly... I know I know... new rules).

    - Toops didn't knock on when (after the first situation) Manly got their hand to the ball first and knocked it on (either by batting it to the ground or by batting it into Toops). Nobody was offside (such a weird 'penalty'... you challenge who touched it first and they call a penalty against you for being 'offside').

    - JWH was crowded and pushed a guy away. The dude shoulda been penalised for crowding.

    - Teddy's first conversion attempt was successful because it looked so wide that we all must have been seeing double. Glad he chose footy and not soccer...

What happened to the new rule about a turn over if the ball insnt played with the foot? I reckon Manly played it incorrectly at least 9 or 10 times.

Reversing a try after it has been awarded by the on-field ref AND while the conversion is being lined up is a recipe for disaster. Today it was us, but wait till (if) it happens to one of the rugby league “darling” sides.

Similar call in the Broncos game, Turpin grounded the ball in goal - no seperation, defender pushed ball back, knock on Broncos.
Shouldn't a knock on require the ball to leave the players grip???

FYI, Manly player attacked JWHs elbow so all good.

I think Teddy knocked that ball dead - and that was a massive call. I can’t believe they didn’t challenge it.

The Keary "head high" tackle on Foran was a joke.

Only problem with that is that it won’t happen to a darling side. It’s anorher rule change to give the offi field game managers more opportunity to handle the outcomes of games whatever way they see fit.

Manly were stitched up with DCE’s perfect kick where teddy took it out.

Agree 10000%. They do it in RU, and it's one rule (amongst many others) that I hate about that game.

Sitilli's no try was a joke.

We had a bit of luck with Teddy touching the ball dead - thought we were a bit lucky there.

Was trying to work out what was happening with Tedesco taking so long with the conversion attempt, the better half quipped that Tedesco was trying to find someone else to kick after his first woeful attempt, then we worked out that it was a call from the video ref .

Still shaking my head at JWH being put on report. Guys push out with their arms 50 times a game. He is scrutinised way too much.

Ennis called it absolutely embarrassing, he hopes the referees boss pulls maxwell aside and tells him to not pull that up in the future.

                              For everyone else except JWH.
