I think that ,with the delayed Tedesco extension due to SOO commitments, then the announced signing of Hutchinson and the 2 young talents followed by Verrills and Touponua and no mention of Crighton by the club, there is some agreement between the club and Crighton and he will be staying at the club , just finalising details.
As for Toops , I cannot see him leaving the Roosters anytime soon and will hopefully retire as a one club player breaking the records for most games and most tries.

I'm guessing it's part of the game as a player too? Like if you wait until last then you can take whatever's left... and the club will be factoring that in so you'll reduce the games about how much is really on offer.

Like the way I see it...
- Teddy's the world's best player and they'll throw $$$ at him
- Suaalii's the world's next best player and that was beyond everybody's control... we pulled all sorts of strings to sign him and you just deal with that
- Verrills and Sitili musta REALLY wanted to stay... IMO clubs woulda been offering them $$$ and they took our offer, which is awesome
- Crichton's wanting to stay and the discussion's purely about how much $$$ is left in our coffers

Maybe the cash isn't available until next season with a few players set to retire in 2021.- They may have to go to the market for a winger/centre as well for 2022?- Not sure how much NRL game time Billy Smith will get and Matt Ikuvalu is a fill in at best on the wing. Joseph Suaalii may need a good 2 years of lower grades and development to be NRL ready
