The future of teen prodigy Joseph Suaalii looks to finally be settled with the Rabbitohs reportedly set to grant the 17-year-old a release to join the Roosters.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports South Sydney are eager to finally put the situation to bed and a transfer fee will be paid by the Roosters to secure Suaalii.
The tug of war over Suaalii started when the young gun pushed for a release from the final year of his contract with Souths — a $60,000 development deal.
The Rabbitohs proposed a player swap deal with NSW representative winger Daniel Tupou but the Roosters rejected it and will instead pay a transfer fee.
South Sydney knocked back the Roosters’ initial $50,000 compensation payment, however the Herald reports the Roosters will now increase that.
