From his perspective he obviously we want to play next year for his own development and i'm sure the roosters too want to make sure he is happy as a player

Mate, he and his manager together a combination pain in the ass package. We are clearing the decks just to accomodate an untested young player/hype train who comes with so much demands and a high price tag -plus knowing that he potentially could only be with us for a few years until he gets the itch to switch to rugby union and chase after big money $$$. Why are we chasing after this kid albeit his manager/management playing games ? So much drama and now risk losing a stalwart player such as Toops ?

It's mostly his manager and family - he is a 17 year old kid, I wouldn't think he would have much say in anything (such is being reported) - he is being ridiculously torn by 1000 people in his ear telling him what he should do before he has even done anything. I actually feel quite bad for the kid.

Yes a lot of drama but direct your anger at his management, souffs and even the roosters management for accommodating this drama.

At the end of the day its now souffs that are being offensively uncooperative in this situation where it is getting unethical to not release him so all parties can be happy.

But if we do sign him, he as an individual should have no hate from roosters fans - everyone will have a mountain of expectation on him and he may disappoint, but also this crazy hype is being driven by the media, agents and clubs who have taken advantage of a teenager with talent.

It is similar to the Latrell media situation except he is much younger and untested completely.

In saying this toops is my favourite Roosters players and I would be beyond gutted and destroyed if he went to somewhere like souths because of this - but I would not take it out on Suaalii, I would take it out on our club

I hope not far enough to do anything stupid - I will be furious with our own club if we do. We aren't the sort of club to bow down to ridiculous demands by the likes of clubs like souffs for a dud deal, so lets have faith before panicking. Surely they just get Suaalii's team to say they'll go to union if not released so V'landys can just step in and force the move to us.

I agree that Nick is probably crying with laughter at this offer - however sadly I think the idea of us 'casually training' with him next year while he is still contracted to souths would be a big no no in the rules. We would probably be fined or punished for breaking the cap which is what everyone wants.
