Disappointing outcome, but we cannot keep them all.

Little doubt that it is to help make way for Joseph.

The club knows what it is doing. Let's be patient.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I don't think he was ever a MUST keep. Sorry if I'm missing something. If another club can offer him regular 1st grade footy then let him fly IMO.

How many of those we let go, mentioned in an earlier post, who had “ potential “ did actually achieve anything noteworthy at another club?
RTS and Lattrell were established in first grade when we had to let them go because they wanted to leave. The rest have become journeymen.

I'm assuming that we never counted on the Morris bros going around for another year (even if they are only on $200k-$300k each that is still equal to 1 top line player), coupled in with the fact that the salary cap has also dropped for next year.

And we had Keary + Teddy to upgrade to massive contracts for 2021/2022

Makes sense that we are VERY light on money to spend, I'm not expecting any further signings and fingers crossed we have some promising youngsters that can step up after not playing for a season.

I've noticed that most teams have been very quiet in the transfer market for this time of year with only bottoms teams like Tigers, Bulldogs, Titans and Warriors the only ones to make more than a few signings.

Then there's the Eels, who I don't know how have managed to afford Keegan Hipgrave, Joey Lussick, Michael Oldfield, Tom Opacic, Isaiah Papali'i, Nathaniel Roache and Bryce Cartwright

This doesn't make sense. If the Morris brothers didn't go around next year, we would have signed someone else to replace them. They aren't causing us salary cap issues.

He would have been on minimum wage and we still have to replace him in our Top 30.
I think it is more to make room for another.

And I have never believed that we have cap pressure. We manage our cap better than anyone. Just rearranging the deck chairs.

No, but the price of success is that hard decisions have to be made.

The quote 'Uncle Nick always gets his man' is quite simply baloney. We've got an advantage in 3rd party deals compared to some other clubs, but it's doesn't mean we can keep everyone we want. That's the nature of the system.

Some of these guys have to make way if we want to keep Teddy, Keary, Crichton and the like. That's just the way it is.

What concerns me is the overall age of our squad, and i say this in reference to the Morrises in particular.

Getting the right balance in that regard is proving tricky at the moment, and I really would have liked to have seen us keep one Morris but not both.

From Brent Read - The Sydney Roosters have released young outside back Christian Tuipulotu. Understand he is headed to Manly

You can’t be serious. All would be on minimum wage. All unwanted players.

Signed a 4-year contract with Manly. No wonder he asked for a release.

No doubt Nick has a plan.
Just a guess..Nick's buddy Ayoub looks after David Nofoaluma who definitely wants out of the rubbish club Wests Tigers.
Nofoa played junior footy with Teddy so you know 1 + 1 = Roosters!
