Before my time...my earliest recollections were Johnny Tobin calling Fittler Shittler and getting hammered for it, but giving back twice as hard.

Rooster Cogburn is Ray Stehr right? I think he morphed into Ferris Ashton for a while?

    Was the Oracle Melon?

Geez, we could do with one of Melon's Churchillian posts right now...

Great stuff! I think I might be "Andy" on there but not sure.
Was this before or after "The Wall" ? Any refugees like me still around from "The Wall" days?

I remember a few of the characters from there. 'Dave' stood out. He was like Ray Stehr on here, but even more negative if that were possible. We'd win a game 40 - 0 but he would still find a way to write a huge sook-fest about poor defensive structure and X player 'has to go'.
        Bondi boy?

He got that Nickname because of his bad form during the twilight of his career, His last year or so wasn't that great to watch seeing a past great champion of the highest standard sink to the level he did. It was a bit sad.

Fittler’s last 3 seasons all resulted in Grand Finals. 2005 onwards we were rubbish.

                His shit season was 2001.

                  From the website recalling 1997.

                  24th September 1997
The Roosters are about to finish their best season in 10 years. The First Grade side has finished 3rd, the Reserve grade side made the Semis and the under 20's will play in this Sundays Grand Final against Balmain. This goes well for Easts future as there is some of the most talented up and comers in the side. The selected side is Justin Brooker, Anthony Minichiello, Chad Halliday, Ben Macdougall, Ronald Prince, Damien Mostyn, Andrew Large, Paul Khoury(c), Jay Croke, Hayes Lauder, Andrew Lomu, Peter Cusack, Mathew Relf, Trent Robinson.(One to be omitted) - Interchange Justin Smith, Nelson Lomi, Brendan Currie, Andrew Roberts, Ryan Apps, Nicholas Windeatt, Anthony Gould, Ben Forde, Adam Gooden, David Lambert.
                  Go the Roosters under 20's!!!

Haha - this brings back a lot of memories!
I met Carlos a few times at the game - a really nice bloke and passionate supporter - I wonder if he is on The Chookpen??

It was Micky. Massive memories - FilthyRalph, Assyrian Pimp, Ghost of Ron Jones, Socrates, Hawkeye, to name a very few and The Brain's Matchups - some of the funniest stuff I've ever read.
