  • Do others find commentaries annoying?

Was just thinking... against the Riff I muttered 'just watch the game' a couple of times (after hearing one commentator keep repeating a stoopid line about the Riff + death riding us when we were behind by a single try). I turned the sound off as they were getting too pepped up to the point where it distracted from the game. It wasn't even technical analysis of what was going on, it was just repetition of stoopid lines that their PR team had clearly spent all week trying to come up with.

Anybody else find this? IMO with Kayo you should be able to turn the audio commentary off while still keeping the sound of the game. I'm not articulating it very well but I just wanna watch what's happening + the ref's call rather than hearing lotsa cr@p.

YES, I often turn the volume off or very low and the commentary takes a lot away from the enjoyment of the game. I hate it that they are all SCREAMING hysterically for just about anything, and not really calling the game in an unbiased way. Ennis's comments piss me off, and Voss's random obscurities. Gus pontification, and Johns's normally dumb comments. Brandy is OK, and Sterling, but the rest are annoying. Years ago FOX had an option of watching the game with no commentary, but still being able to hear the ground mikes, crowd noise and the ref, that was great, but it is no longer available. I guess it doesn't help that they all want the Chooks to be beaten and take huge pleasure in cheering on our opposition.

It is so noticeable the agendas they have on TV but not sure it’s the same on the radio - ABC at least with Andrew Moore and Luke Lewis. It’s just commentary. Maybe this because of a lessor profile on radio. I don’t know.

As someone else posted it was soooooo noticeable the other night on Fox the mood change after our early start and then again when the Riff got in front.

Dis we get the hype last year on the basis of “wouldn’t it be great to see a team go back to back for one” or was it more “Canberra deserves this because of Sticky and Mal”. I think the later.

People like Ennis and Alexander shouldn’t be anywhere near a broadcast when their teams are playing. Maybe that’s the same for Cooper as well. All depends on the role they play.

How many times will “Souths last start win” get mentioned again today?

The only commentator Roosters fans would be happy would be Gus Worland... but other fans wouldn’t.

I used to like Alexander but I can’t stand him anymore.

As soon as I hear Matt Thompson's voice I switch channels.

Last night for the first time in my life I actually considered watching a game on mute.

The stocks are at an all-time low.

The solution is to get to the game if you can.

I use to like Ennis before he joined Canberra and showed total bias. I also thought Gasnier had some good stuff to say but they dumped him.

Now we get idiots like Braith, Freddy, Johns, Roach etc.

              It’s unbearable.

I find Chanel 9 to be much more bearable without Phil Gould. Warren needs to go as well, but compared to Phil he is miles better. In general I wish there was an option to turn off the commentary but still have the crowed noise/noise of the game. But there probably never will be
                EASTS TO WIN!

Being in Brisbane, I only go to the Roosters game here or GC but one thing I HATE about being in games these days is the music or sound effects they play on the grounds PA system at full blast whenever there is a stoppage. During the Storm Roosters game here, the Storm have this annoying cowbell sound blasting through their PA at all times trying to get their fans involved...Is this what the kids like today? No more cowbell!!

Egos are a huge problem. Too many ex players try to give the impression they know what is going to happen and the vast majority are not as smart as they think they are. The prejudices are easily noticeable, and one of the most annoying thing about Gould is he gives an opinion about a ruling or a play and then he repeats it constantly like an old granny! Just call the game!

Then there is something that is not ever really mentioned but annoys me, when they're having a discussion about something and not calling the game while my beloved Roosters are building for an attack or making a break or, as they did when Kyle was setting up and attempting an important conversion. Just call the game!

Then they have to question every decision the ref makes. We all know refs make mistakes, but thank God the commentators are there to say, 'that's ok...correct decision!' JUST CALL THE GAME!

I like sterling and fatty, they don’t overthink the game, and fatty still sounds like he is commentating his first game(he makes me laugh because he has no feel of political correctness)

I can't stand it this season.
Anasta must have had a massive falling out with us, he loves death riding us.
Our only hope is for Cronk and Freddy to become game commentators.

Andrew Voss talking about penfiff....no fear of failure. He must've said it 30 times.
Anasta doesn't even rate a comment.
