  • The only thing............

That will salvage this weekend is if the Knights knock souffs out of the comp. As far as we're concerned, I'd like to know what the f&$k has happened to our defense???? We resemble a team who is relying on instinct to get through games. I can't see us beating Canberra next week and I'm OK with that but only if souffs are gone.

No Friend, No Radley, Cordner who has been unwell on and off all season, an aging JWH, an aging Maubs, an elderly SBW....not rocket science mate.

The end of next year will see the end of an era - our rebuild strategy will commence. Both Morrises, Friend, Maubs, SBW will be gone. Possibly more.

It's also not out of the question that JWH or Cordner retirement might be closer than some would hope for. They are busted.

We've had an incredible 3 years. But what you can't see - but is there - is the physical toll.

In a possible, but slightly more extreme scenario, our 2022 lineup could potentially be:

    1. Tedesco
    2. Tupou
    3. Smith
    4. Manu
    5. ?
    6. Keary
    7. Walker/Flanno
    8. SST
    9. Verrils
    10. Collins
    11. Crichton
    12. Cordner (c)
    13. Liu

    14. Butcher
    15. Lam
    16. Sitili
    17. Radley

I think the bench spot you haven’t filled there may be reserved for Radley since you couldn’t find room for him in the starting lineup.

I think Daniel Fifita looks super promising for us...and **** I hope Butcher isn't still in our best 17

This kid is going to be our bench prop in a year or two, reminds me of young Payne Haas.

I don't think we are out of it. It's going to require one last push.

Penrith have some massive chinks in their armor. Half of their backs couldn't tackle to save their lives.

Yet they still beat us and have lost 1 game all year...go figure

Yet we weren’t smart enough to unleash Manu straight at them, keary should take some authority on that right hand side and open him up.

Looking at Luai's defence last night I reckon Souths will beat Panthers if they get the chance. I even backed Souths to make the grand final. I'd be happy to lose my bet but I suspect only rain can stop them.

ps: my bet is an emotional hedge.

Vasco, I like your judgements on footy, but Penrith are a very, very good team. They're probably in more of a box seat now after last night.

Butcher is a bit like Cordner in the sense that he has something you can't coach - maturity, smarts and a level head.

He is a future leader/captain. As captain of the old Roosters NYC team he led them to great success and ultimately a premiership.

I might be against the grain among Chooks fans on this forum, but I like him.

Fifita is good, but at this stage he is just another young prop. Nothing of note stands out. I don't think i'd even have him above Farmersilly.

Victor will be our next captain not Nate.
