  • Simple game plan

1/ their fullback is useless, bomb him all night, he offers nothing in attack
2/ Too and Mansour are no match for Toops and Morris in the air
3/ Chrichton and Naden very good attacking players but very lazy in defence

attack this back 5 at every opportunity

Their halves and Forwards are The Riffs strength, no cheap penalties, turn them around with early kicks, they are very dangerous from inside the 20, they will not score long distance tries on us.

Tedesco, Keary and co, take on the big Riff forwards up the middle, run them into the ground, holes will open up through the guts when their benches come on

Manu and Morris do not rush up in defence, stay in the line and force Cleary and Luai to invent a play, if their centres get on the outside we are screwed

Lastly Kikau can be damaging but is one lazy ****, throw Cordner or Angus in his face and this imposter will be non existent, loves running at the little guys.

We will win by 20 or more

    30/6 or thereabouts

    cheers

Dylan Edwards certainly isn't useless mate, in fact he's probs in the top 5 fullbacks this year. However you make some very valid points, Crichton and Naden have struggled on defence previously. Remember when Waqa Blake ran over Crichton numerous times in that game and won Parra the game. Also Kikau can be very lazy on defence, he tends to miss a lot of tackles. Our best chance would be going at their left edge defence of luai, kikau, crichton and mansour

Yeah nah. I can think of at least 7 or 8 better than him... but I agree he is not useless.

Dylan Edwards will not kill you with his kick return, he is very rarely used as a link between the halves and outside backs, his goal line defence and positioning is suspect, his main strength is his ability to back up which every fullback should be good at, Their back 5 is their Achilles heel

          good points.
above all we need to defend strong. the longer we keep them scoreless the more they'll get the wobblies.

Just keep charging down Clearys kicks especially close to our line because they score a lot of tries from kicks.

They are a young and impressionable side who in my opinion have not yet been truly tested and pushed. They are definitely beatable. I am hoping that we will come out seathing after last Friday and play like men possessed.

Cleary also needs to be targeted (legally of course). He always seems like he has ample time and space to do his thing. That needs to be stopped, and done so effectively.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Teddy, Ponga, Trbo, Shyzenhousen, Nicoll-Klokstad, Holmes, Latrell, Brimson, Hoppa, Durry-arse, Duges...etc. Is he a top 10 FB?

I rate Edwards as reliable which imo puts him ahead of some of those. I would say at least the following are better when you factor in overall performance and not just flashy attack: Teddy, Turbo, RTS, Ponga, Papenhuyzen, Gutho, Brimson.

Defence will be key along with limiting 6 again and penalties - need to put them under pressure too not only defensively but attack wise too - scoreboard pressure - Coach Cleary has said a few times he liked when they(Penrith) were put under scoreboard pressure to see how they would react - mmm the other team scored the first try to lead 6 nil early on - scoreboard pressure would be if down 12 or more and other team has momentum. That will be the test then.

Also kicking needs to be better as Keary and Flanno aren't big kickers so in attack need to be make good yardage to enable the kick to be effective i.e down to their goal line and have them ruck it out of their own end - no struggle to get to the 30 or so and the kick is taken by their fullback on their 30 and the first tackle is on half way as they will be in the Chooks 20 by tackle 4 or 5 and grubbering through the line which also needs to be combated. - limit the times they get into the red zone.

80 minute performance is required and no slackening off - Dont know if the 17 picked will be the team that is provided 1 hr before the game - not sure of having Lam as reserve for instance if Lussick plays he Lussick plays 80 minutes so either Butch or Maubs will come into the 17 - Lam may even be the DH in place of Lussick with Butch or Maubs on the interchange
