Gus has been on Penrith all year .... almost like he's backed them and they have been red hot only losing one game and drawing another.
It was the way he was putting the boot in when we were getting run over last week that was annoying.
He will be cheesed off if we beat them this week and I'd love to see it.

At the start of the year Gus tipped the Roosters. When the comp restarted after Covid he changed his mind.....then the Roosters won 5 in a row and he was back on the bandwagon.....now he is off the bandwagon!!!
Anyhow i've got some good news- EVERYTHING i have touched on the punt in the last week has been a total DISASTER.....so im going to smash the Panthers hard at $1.80!! That should stop them- you can all thank me Friday at around 9.30pm

As Gus said, we're gaaawn and will be going into this game as underdogs. On that basis I'm happy to put a lobster on us at $50 odds if any Souffs fans who are willing and able to do so.

Is there any substance to that, or just random hearsay?
It's far, far more likely that his work with other clubs simply became a conflicting factor, and it wasnt appropriate for him to be at club functions.

The only person i've ever heard Nick has had a fallout with is Wayne Bennett. Can anyone think of someone else??

Originally posted by Headless Chook View PostNRL guru Phil Gould believes the Roosters are "not in the premiership hunt" following their historic 60-8 drubbing at the hands of the Rabbitohs.
Just a week out from finals, the reigning premiers were comprehensively played off the park by their cross-town rivals who recorded their biggest win ever of the Tricolours.
Gould didn't mince his words immediately after the loss when he claimed coach Trent Robinson faced a "major repair job" to get his side ready for an in-form Penrith side that have lost just one game this season.
But on Monday night the league icon went one further as he emphatically put a line through the Roosters' title hopes.
"There's no Cooper Cronk this year, there's no Latrell Mitchell," Gould told Nine's 100% Footy. "Some of the older players have been showing signs of wear and tear. They're back to back premiers. That takes a lot of toll out of your team. It's not the team it was.
"There were enough easy games in this competition to keep them ticking over, they were always going to hop on one leg and make it into the top-four. But they're just not in the premiership hunt at the moment, and it finally broke for them the other night, it really did. It looked like finally, this was the straw that broke the camel's back.
"This is not the team they were. They've been up for a long time. Everyone plays against them like they're playing the defending premiers. They've played a lot of hard football. They're a good side but they're not a premiership side right now. You can't compare them to what they've been."
Friday night's loss was not just a shock for fans but caused a huge shock behind the scenes at the club.
I would imagine this little piece of journalism will be doing the rounds at training over the next few days
The assessment from Gus is true enough.

In other news I will be watching nine on Friday night because I will be interested in his comments as we win that game.

I wouldn't read too much in what Gus has to say. His predictions aren't always right and honestly, I don't think anyone will just look at that one match and write us off completely. This might be off topic, but did anyone else notice how excited Vossy got when the tide turned in last weeks game? Not sure if it was me, but it felt pretty biased, blatantly so...p!ssed me off watching it
