  • So what would Penrith and the Storm be Thinking After tonight?

Well, if I was Ivan & co, I'd be hoping Parra loses tomorrow even if the Raiders overtake them tomorrow because they know what we can produce on days that we want to win.
Whereas Bellamy and Cam would be cheering Parra all the way because they don't want another Battle of Suncorp for next week.

I doubt any of these coaches will be licking their lips in anticipation to play the Roosters we saw tonight, but if they are, then they haven't been paying attention of what we are capable of doing this year.

They could also be thinking that we have just shown the comp our weaknesses and how to beat /expose us. But if I personally were either of them I would expect us to bounce back strong because we aren’t the type to just go down without a fight in the finals.

It's not like they turn up next week and start the game with the same final score of tonight's game - the way that Gould banged on about it it's like they do- you can;t turn this around in one week - it's 0 - 0 when the game starts - you can hear Fittler getting cranky with Gould - calls him Phil instead of Gus - Gould is getting more annoying in his old age

If the storm or panthers had gotten beat like us and we were playing them next week, I’d be saying you beauty.

both those teams have just rested a lot of their own players so they know a result in a meaningless last game doesn't win or lose you a comp.

like gallen said - 'i'd hate to play the roosters after that'.

Nobody likes to face a team (especially with our capability) coming off a loss.

            Penrith: GO TIGERS
            Melbourne: GO PARRA

Souths came off a loss to the Dogs the week prior and look what they produced. We can turn it around.

They'll both be thinking what we're alll thinking... what the **** just happened?

Are the Roosters cooked? Or are they a wounded beast ready to explode to regain their pride?

That was just sooo weird. I was anticipating our traditional "foot off the gas" loss before the finals. But not that.

Maybe it'll be a good thing and in hindsight we'll thank Souffs for shocking us into action. Or we'll get pumped by 20 next week.

This whole situation is just so unpredictable.

If we start with topunua , Aubusson and ikavalu defending the right side, then you have a point. However with Bmoz, Manu and Crighton there instead your point is irrelevant.

Roosters premiership odds drifted last night and now back it outright favourites, I reckon Bellamy and Cleary have had a punt on the Roosters.

Sutton, Klein and Cummins don't have their money on us that's for sure. I fear them as much as Penrith and the Storm.

26-6 penalties combined against the last two games.

And on finals eve. That's corrupt. Surely.

                        I was aware of this.

About 30 years ago when Canberra beat us 66-4, we came out the next week and drew 12 all against a very decent Bulldogs side.

I don't think anyone would want to play us next week.

Whoever plays us next week would be completely ignoring last nights game as they would realise it was a dead rubber with players rested.

My biggest concern with the new rules has always been there could be a game where an idiotic ref hands so much possession to the opposition that we just run out of energy in quick time and game over season over. I am glad it happened now so that the refs stay out of it during the finals.

Other than that, I still believe that we would rather gift 6-again or a penalty than defend with a broken defensive line. The consistently lopsided stats are Robbo's defensive tactics and not a refereeing conspiracy.

The Storms and Panthers will be thinking who in the team has an excellent short kicking game and drifting ball player. None of them do. Munster goes alright and Cleary and Luai are ok
