  • SST, Hutch and Flanno

Great performance from most of the team - Teddy, Morris bros, Jwh.
SST & Hutch made the clutch play imo, and Flanno was very solid.
Hypothetical: If we were at full strength except Keary, could we still win the premiership with Flanno and Hutch as our halves?

    No way.

if they were our halves pairing for the whole finals we wouldn't make the gf. if keary went down in the prelim and hutch came in? funny things can happen in gfs.

Honestly the last 6 weeks SST has by far and away been our best player if not the entire year Keary a close second. Answer to the original question? No absolutely no way.

Agree about SST. Best player for us all year.

I didn't realize how much we were up against it last year, until I watched the replays of the prelim and gf a gazillion times.

This year has a stench of 2014 about it, except this time it's parras "turn".

They are not quite the team souffs were back then. Even at full strength and as good as we can be, it would be phenomenal to make it again. (Not that last year wasnt, I'll be dining out on that for the rest of my life)

The screws are definetly getting applied with this rubbish application of the six again.

I don't want to to see us give it up without a massive fight tho, get well lads please.

              No.

Credit to Hutch, he had a good game. But he has a firm ceiling as a half which isn't high. He may evolve into a solid 2nd rower in time.

Flanno is a solid operator, but he needs a dominant creative half (Keary) alongside him to have his game effective against the stronger squads.

Right now I’d have Hutch and Keary as halves partners

                  Without Keary

We could win with Ted and Flanno in the halves

We might with either Flanno or Hutch in the halves, but not both at this stage unfortunately. It really needs to be Luke and Flanno, Luke and Lam (when he comes back) or Luke and Hutch (but these positions are not preferred). Hutch is okay, and tries mighty hard, but he might not be the answer for us in those big end of season finals games.
                    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Has to be Luke #6 and Flanno #7 for us to win the comp. No question about it in IMO.

I think the fact that this hypothetical is a conversation is a bit unusual.

West Tigers were Broncos-like in the first half. They tossed up complete and utter garbage of the highest order. Even a Dubbo B grade side probably would have done a number on them.

Not the kind of game to judge the Hutch/Flanno combo accurately.

100%. Look at the bunnies last night they did a job on manly.. but i wont be judging them based on that performance.. i thought similar of Wests they played very poorly last night IMO. Gave our boys a lot of time and opportunities that wont happen come finals time with other teams

I've said it from the start.....THE SIX AGAIN RULE SUCKS!..... Perenara and some others hand them out like lollies and they have had major impacts in many games! All it has been taking for some is a half-second delay in the play-the-ball that has been no-one's fault. If a team REALLY transgresses, give a penalty! I'm sure a team stuck in their own half would prefer one.

It's nice to know every conversion has a good chance of going over too. You can't win a comp without a good goal kicker.
