I though he had already re-signed with us and went to the management and requested a further increase at which point he was told no and some agreement was reached for his release. Not 100% sure on this but it was being thrown around at the tme he was released.

You make a great point, BeverlyS, particularly with regard to the carpool lanes, and indeed your entire premise in terms of Brian Smith's underlying philosophy on coaching at Easts: he always allowed cars with more than one occupant to skirt jam-packed traffic.

Sure, opposition defenses eventually worked out that the A and B defenders just had to gang-up on the ball player, and eventually all of the fuel-saving benefits were rendered pointless, but this new Californian Program will be sure to have opposition defenses cracking their dacks in anticipation next year (as long as a particular lawmaker doesn't get his filthy mits on the program)!!!
