We are only a few weeks away from our first trial match for the year and fortunately with the exception of Anthony Cherrington we finally have a fully fit squad available for selection.
Joseph 'BJ' Leilua was the only minor casualty post christmas, straining his hamstring on the training field but the powerful outside back is now back in full training and will be available for selection for the trial against the Bulldogs.
Full Injury Update:
Mitchell Aubusson
Aubusson had a shoulder reconstruction in June of this year and has now fully recovered from the operation and will be ready to go in the trials in the new year.
Lama Tasi
Lightning has struck twice for Tasi who has re-fractured the same finger that kept him out of action last season. The exciting youngster has already had an operation and should be good to go in time for round 1 in 2012.
Frank Paul-Nuuausala
Nuuausala had both ankle and elbow operations in the off season but is now fully recovered and ready to play in the pre season trials.
Shaun Kenny-Dowall
After missing the last two games of last season SKD underwent groin surgery but after a slow recovery has now moved back in to full training and will be ready to go for the trials in early 2012.
Mose Masoe
Mose underwent surgery with an expert in the field on the Gold Coast to replace a disc in his neck at the end of the 2011 season. The fan favourite had been getting pins and needles down his side during matches but is reporting a massive improvement and whilst the situation is still being monitored is expected to be fit for selection in round 1 of the new season.
Martin Kennedy
Kennedy had a foot stress fracture which kept him out for the majority of the 2011 season. Such an injury can be very delicate and Kennedy has shown great patience and worked tirelessly with the medical staff and is finally back to full running and will be fit to play in the trials.
Anthony Cherrington
All fingers crossed this will finally be the year a bit of luck shines on back rower Anthony Cherrington. Cherrington went under the knife for his second knee reconstruction after the first trial of 2011 but unfortunately after a few complications was forced to undergo surgery for the third time in early July. Fortunately his recovery seems to be on track but given his history Cherrington will be eased back in to competition and should be available to start playing again in early May.
