I’ve been getting a little worried in the last couple of weeks on the way Keary has been taking on the line a little too much. With Cordner, Rads and should I mention Latrell, Luke’s been too cavalier IMO. To his credit, He’s taken on his role and that of Cooper. Anyway let hope he gets back soon. He was due for a break!

very good news. hard for us to win the comp if he was out for the season.
every chance come finals time we will have the best team in the comp on the paddock. our current injuries actually make that more likely.
boys need to hang tough for the time being and grind out some wins but you'd better believe that if we're fit and firing we can win this from eighth.

That was a coward shot, clear shoulder charge designed to maim.

If that scumbag takes the field against us ever again then we need to take matters into our hands as I bet the NRL won't.
I couldn't see anything wrong with the tackle, you see at least a dozen each game. We tend to get a bit precious when one of our own get hurt sometimes

The Tele saying broken ribs in two places and to be sideline for 2 weeks. That’s a little presumptuous I think.

I can't see him being out for only 2 weeks, having broken ribs myself I know the pain and it took a lot longer than that to heal.
Even if they do heal quickly I wouldn't rush him back and risk breaking them again sidelining him for the season.
We are safe in making the finals, get him fully fit and ready for the finals.

We need him for the Raiders game but I doubt Robbo will risk it. Hopefully most of the others will be back on deck plus SBW.

The defender has his arms down and shapes his shoulder for a hit after he hits he lifts one arm ..not a tackle but a shoulder charge .Plus the initial damage was done when Keary was hit late in the air after kicking the hit made it worse.
If you listened to the TvCh9 the reporter lady said Keary was getting attention to his ribs at half time so probably fractured it initially the fully broken on the shoulder charge.

Yep. Like I said we definitely owe that guy and looking forward to it.

                      Well said.

Luke has been starting to remind me a lot of Geoff Toovey.

Both the tiniest bloke on the field, but the biggest balls and heaps of courage.

Can take up to 6 weeks to heal - maybe less for footy players as they would get round the clock treatment/rehab- if 6 weeks that's 1st week of finals

It was unfortunate but one of those great shots that if it had come from a Rooster player we would all be cheering. Its football not netball

I hope Keary is OK and heals well

Didn't Liu also have a broken rib and only missed a week or 2 tops?

I guess there's breaks and there's breaks. If it's the same rib broken in two places, then there's no structural integrity in the floating piece without surgery and the healing time will be longer. If it'sd 2 seperate ribs broken, then at least there's enough support around it to make playing with a needle viable after a couple of weeks of healing.

The one thing I do know for sure is that he is one very tough little bugger, and he will be back on the field and winning us games as soon as is humanly possible.

If it was a great shot, it was a great shot on an immobilised, blindsided and much smaller opponent with his arms held up exposing his ribs to a player whose mind was on other things than stopping his progress.

But yes I get it that you and others (including the match review committee) thought it was commendable.

Hall's "ankle twist" the week before was worth charging however.
