A preseason with the team will be enormous for Anthony @ Roosters.

Power play is where the attacking team can ask the defending team to drop 2 players from its team, each team will be allowed 1 power play per half of football. The defending team will have to sweat it out for 5mins before it can return to the full complement of players on the field.

Sounds a bit silly... Any side should be able to score easily with 13 against 11 surely?

Not really a fan of the 'power play'.

Do like the idea of the 20/40's though.

                  Agree.
Very similar concept they once tried in tennis - "swingers point" where the receiver could opt for a long or short deuce. Meaning Advantage, then win the next point to win the game (traditional way)or alternatively have a next point determines the winner of the game. This was also unsuccessful.

Thanks. I don't think this is the way forward for league. If I could introduce a new rule for NRL then I would love to see some form of "drop-off" introduced for drawn games rather than golden point. They use drop-off in touch footy where you lose a player after every 3 minutes until only 3 players left on a field. It opens up the field and makes it very exciting. Better than the current golden point field goal contest. You have to win through a try.

Right you are, the concept comes from ice hockey. the officials are already aware that it would not be widely excepted in league.
