  • Uncle Nick's mother

The Sydney Roosters will wear black arm bands in Thursday night’s grand final rematch against the Raiders as a mark of respect to the mother of highly-respected chairman Nick Politis.

Roosters players have been throwing support around Politis for the past week after his mum died in Greece at the age of 103.

    Talk about good genes.

Politis is like a father figure to all of the Roosters players and the players in turn have all been texting the chairman all week as a mark of support.

Yeah my uncle in Spain died of coronavirus and not one of his 8 brothers or sisters were able to not only see him in his last few days, but also attend his burial. Very sad.

The generosity of our senior players is a reflection of the generosity of Robbo which is a reflection of Uncle Nick's enormous generosity.
