    • The Toronto Wolfpack would love nothing more than for SBW to come back for a short stint in the NRL and make world headlines helping the Chooks to a threepeat. Would do wonders for the game's profile in Canada and US.

I assume this includes 'loan deals'? But maybe not? Hard to tell what details the media want to include (or don't) to make a better story.

The NRL should have the ability to make loan agreements with Super League and vice versa - if this isn't the case, they should adjust that ASAP.

RL has enough challenges in the world without it's only two pro leagues not working in sync. Situations like these should make it easy for Aus RL clubs to save players leaving to do other other opportunities because something happened to their club or competition over there. Once the NRL sorts out their own financial problems they should really look to take over super league to have a more unified vision of the game.

If the two leagues were working together it seems obvious for the good of RL everywhere to let Sonny play here for this season because of the unprecedented circumstances, and then return to his contract to help Toronto next year (if he wants to do that - otherwise he can just quit his contract)

You wouldn't think Sonny would throw away and extra $5 mill (who would) but its more down to does he/his manager trust Toronto to be able to pay that bill. Toronto say they will but their situation doesn't sound very good.

Why do they have to reveal their source? They might work for the club and be privy to discussions.
          ..it’ll be interesting to see

I think V'Landy's would be pretty awake to the publicity benefits generated by SBW's return. He'd green light it. He might insist he goes to Parra though!

Why would he insist where a player goes? This would be like a draft condition which we don't have. If Sonny says he will only play for the Roosters as Buzz says on his column, then that's the only deal on the table.

He was influential in 2013 and in 2014 he cracked the shits and didn't put in.

He won't be the player everyone remembers from 7 years ago and it's crazy to think he will.

                • SBW done deal a couple of weeks ago. Just a few formalities to sort through.

                  • And what's with the panic that we need SBW? We've lost two games by a total of 6 points against other top 4 teams and everyone is saying we need SBW? Spare me.

                    Chook.

Apparently Super League are meeting today or tomorrow to discuss possible sanctions to be imposed on the Wolfpack. David Argyle and the Wolfpack are expecting (and I think hoping) to be expelled from Super League which he claims will make the players contracts null and void.

Given the state of the world and the increased difficulty and expense of planning and running competitions, it probably makes sense for Super League to kick them out and possibly reinstate the London Broncos.

Nervous times for the players involved despite the guarantees on payments offered by Argyle.

back then he was expected to play 80min and perform play after play every time he touched the ball, his Wolfpack form didn’t look great, but he also had no names there with him.

if he comes here, I wouldn’t expect him to play more than 25min a game, but with players like keary and Tedesco around him, he might look like a superstar again in short bursts.

It might just be me, but playing SBW for 25 mins a game for the 4-5 games he'll most likely only play makes even less sense. Other players, who have played all season, will have to work harder and/or miss out entirely just so he can have a 25min run?

Trying to wedge SBW into our team is a disruption we don't need.

                            Chook.

                            • The path to securing Sonny Bill Williams for the Roosters has been made a little easier with the Tigers snapping up young outside back Asu Kepaoa immediately.

Kepaoa told his Roosters teammates of the move on Thursday. His departure now frees up a roster spot at the Roosters to add Williams to their side for the back end of the season. The Roosters had the NRL’s maximum of 30 players in their ranks before Kepaoa’s mid-season switch.

The 20-year-old has been unable to crack the Roosters NRL side this year. He was off-contract at season’s end and can join the Tigers immediately after a roster spot was cleared at the club following the departure of Corey Thompson to the Titans.

The Roosters are under the salary cap by more than $200,000 this year. Their forward stocks have taken a hit in recent weeks with Victor Radley ruled out for the season and back-rower Angus Crichtonexpected to be sidelined for six weeks.

Williams’ agent Khoder Nasser and Roosters boss Nick Politis had lunch yesterday.
