  • Crowd Attendance for Eels game

The Eels website has just posted that there members cannot attend this week's game as it is a home game to the Roosters. Now, every club has been told that 10 year plus members will be allowed to attend the games and be placed in the Corporate sections.

I have heard that this is the case for every club as all of them had fans attending the games in the stands on the weekends who are 10 year plus members.

Has an email gone out to anyone here confirming that we all who are 10 year plus members can attend?

From what I've seen each club is doing it a bit different. The Rabbitohs for example ran a ballot for all NSW based ticketed members regardless of tenure to be drawn at random whilst the Bulldogs for the game yesterday had a selection process based off member category (e.g. gold, silver, etc), tenure and pledge status. I'd assume we'd see an update on Twitter and the club's website in the next couple of days as to what we are doing as they can likely get around 500 in

There is probably no fair way that everyone will agree on.....however some communication from the club would be nice !!
Just my opinion but the Bulldogs process to me seems very fair ....but i may be biased having gold family membership and we pledges our support to the club

Yes it would have been a nice gesture to select a few members who had pledged (especially those who are also long term members), offer them a seat for this weekend and promote that story through their socials

I guess they still have a chance to - will just have to wait and see

I'm not a member this year due to other commitments etc but have been many years before.. on and off depending on life.
But I think start with the Golds/Silver/Bronze etc then go to years as a member is fair.
Don't think a ballot is right when others commit more $$$ over a long period... we need them to feel the love and stay on.

Got my email just then (I’m an “11 year member”).

                  In the ballot now.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

The only fair way is a ballot for all members that wish to enter. I say members only because thats the only certain way you know for sure its an Easts fan you're letting through.

But thats where it ends for me, I don't agree with all this give it to those who give the most money or those who "pledge".
There is no measurement for loyalty or love for a club.

And if they're going to go down that path, of 'business first' , then jeez, at least we know where we stand, but I wouldn't like to know thats how it really is, especially after all the romanticising of fan pledging and keeping the club afloat.

                        A ballet?

Let's all stage a protest and that way we can all go.

Will the draw be streamed live online?

Exactly. I ran a ballot once at work, and it was anything but random!

No I think Thirteen is suggesting we perform a Ballet, like Swan Lake, in tutus. Then we can all tiptoe in..

I put in for the ballot today. IMO it'll be random... I see no reason why they'd use a corrupt process.

That said, a friend who is regularly the DJ and ground announcer for a team posted pics on FB of him attending a weekend game (as a supporter for another team). Dunno how he got it but he's a general sports fan (bigger on American sports I'd say) and knows a lot of people so coulda gotten it from somebody else who is a ticketed member.

                              > The only fair way is a ballot for all members that wish to enter. I say members only because thats the only certain way you know for sure its an Easts fan you're letting through.

Why wouldn't a ticketed member be an Easts fan? I think it's only ticketed members because we've paid to have our bum on the seat and would otherwise be able to watch for 'free'. They're looking to honour that payment as best as possible.

                              > Not a member so wont effect me but would be nice to see long term older member get a crack first . Pensioners , disable that type .

LOL maybe Bongdi will get a go if he tells them he's 80 and in a nursing home?
