  • Roosters left to lump short turnaround for Eels clash after COVID-19 scare

With Robbo apparently fuming about us being disadvantaged by this, apparently he requested for our game to be pushed back 24 hours which was then declined by the nrl of course.

What do you expect a three peat isn't good for the NRL from a business viewpoint, Parramatta are the chosen team this year and will be given every opportunity to win. In saying that we have overcome all amounts of adversity to go back to back and am confident we will again.

Unknown NRL minion to V'landy's..... "Peter we have a problem; looks like Aiden Tolman and his kid may have been exposed to Corona via a teacher at the kids school"

V'landys replies " that's easy peasy, just push the game back 24hrs till its sorted. Problem solved"

      Later that Day.......

Trent Robinson to V'landys "Peter seeing as our game has been pushed back 24 hrs could we also have next weeks game pushed back also. This will aid our recovery and allow some semblance of parity with Parramatta's preparation while maintaining the integrity of the competition.

V'landys replies "Impossible! The flow on effect will be totally unmanageable. Trent, you and your Roosters need to be sacrificed.... Shit!I meant make sacrifices, make sacrifices. Dismissed!

If we move our game forward one more day, then we only have a short turnaround for the week afters Friday night match. We would have the same people crying about that too, Or should we just keep moving matches until it doesn’t inconvenience us anymore?

          **** V’Landys.

Hailed as some kind of Messiah. He has an agenda against us just like the others did.

He’s got his mates at Fox an extra game for the return of Monday Night Footy tonight and he wouldn’t dare strip Fox of their big clash for this Saturday.

            We should win both
            ..it’ll be interesting to see

exactly. was robbo fuming about this? nick was quoted as saying:

"Robbo’s answer was the same as me. We just have to accept it and move on for the good of the game, otherwise the whole thing collapses."

Correct, if the priority was the integrity of the competition then the match would be being played this morning so both clubs could do recovery this afternoon and not lose a day - it's not like a crowd can attend. A 7pm start is purely for TV, quite sad.

ROOSTERS APPEAL TO NRL IN LUCKY COVID BREAK

                  By Paul Crawley

Star Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves could be back in contention to take on Canterbury due to the decision to delay the game until Monday night because of the COVID-19 testing of Aiden Tolman.

Coach Trent Robinson says he will make enquiries with the NRL to see if Waerea-Hargreaves would be available after earlier being ruled out with a back injury.

Meanwhile, Robinson revealed he only found out about the decision to postpone the match until Monday when he received a phone call from Roosters chairman Nick Politis on Sunday morning at about 9am.

“As soon as he said it I had flashes of remembering the story (about the school in question being shutdown),” Robinson said.

Robinson had no complaints about the decision to postpone the game.

“I think the right decision has been made and we will get ready for tomorrow night, it is as simple as that,” Robinson said.

“It is what it is, you just adapt.

“If you are not good at adapting in these times this year then you haven’t learned anything.”

It will mean the Roosters then have only five days to prepare for the blockbuster clash against Parramatta the following week.

He also had no issue with the shortened turnaround.

“I think you know me by now, we will deal with whatever is in front of us,” he said.

“We go six-day, six-day, six day. So there is no movement that can be done either way.”

Well according to this, he's not fussed at all. It is what it is!

As much as I hate to say it, IMO a forfeit was the right decision. It'll suit the Doggies too coz their PD will stay the same.

It's on you to field a team and if you can't because you've broken the bubble then either you pull some serious strings to get Tolman tested before the game or you sacrifice the game.

well I think the Titans have a far greater chance of winning the comp than for the NRL give the Champions a break. We'll see!

I don't understand the delay. Joe Rogan tests people in his studio and gives them the result before they go on with the podcast. Does Joe Rogan have access to Tek that the NRL can't afford? I sincerely doubt it.
