The Eels and Penrith for that matter are improving and Brisbane, Cronulla and Souffs are sliding, the makeup of the top eight will see the Knights and Penrith replace those mentioned above, the scum will finish just inside the eight.
The Eels hung in there it was a gutsy win two weeks running they have won ugly (Tom Turbo pass not called forward it’s a different scenario) and have had some luck which all teams need to win the comp.
Two things to take from the Eels/Panthers game are Penrith have the weakest backline of the top eight the strength of the forwards Kikau/Koroisau/Fisher-Harris/Tets give them great go forward and some nice offloads to boot, JFH has a big motor obviously Tetevano brings that aggression and maintains the go forward they will be there come finals, I don’t see them past the first week, The Eels as mentioned above showed they have some guts and can hang in the there, apart from Paulo, Brown and Matterson (who is an absolute pillow in defence and cannot move laterally) where most of the meters come from they have nothing on the bench to maintain that run, they dominated early struggled to gain momentum when Paulo went off. Until Parramatta can beat Easts Storm Raiders even the scum consistently they will just make up the numbers.
Brad Arthur without doubt has had the toughest learning journey of all the current coaches I think he’s a solid coach (given the team and the time he inherited the Eels job) post Kearney (imagine that) as caretaker then Ricky came in and completely ****ed the club with his 5 year plan lasting 12 months then he hightailed it to Canberra, he has reached the finals on two occasions 4th place finish two years ago and 5th last year this year??? He just hasn’t had a solid team 1-17 his interchange is ordinary Dylan Brown will be very dangerous the more time he gets Moses I don’t know about this guy I just don’t rate him. Fergo/Blake Jennings/Sivo great backline Gutho is ordinary but a great support player his defence/positioning is diabolical, Mahoney is a reserve grade hooker. They need a elite rake, fullback and another world class front rower.
1. Storm
2. Easts
3. Raiders
4. Eels/Manly
5. Manly/Eels
6. Penrith
7. Newcastle
8. Souffs

We will learn a lot about both them and us after next Saturday's game. We will see whether the hype about them is just that, and we will learn if we are really on track to make a serious challenge again this season. I think we are, but I want to see how we end up after the Eels, Raiders and Storm games.MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
