  • New signing rumour: Oliver Gildart (UK)

    Another day another signing rumour

Source: Moley so take with a huge grain of salt but seems more speculation than any proof of course. The wording indicates Moley thinks the Roosters would be interested in someone like Gildart rather than saying they have reached out https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/oliver-...9-eb753f9a0f7e

23, plays centre for Wigan and country, looks likely to seek NRL contract after signing an NRL agent (Ayoub)

Rooster's haven't had the greatest luck with signing pommy backs but Williams for the Raiders looks good so there is hope you can find a diamond in the rough if you get them in their prime and have good skills to work with.

I wouldn't be against it if it was for the right price. We have Smith hopefully healthy for next year but we are likely to lose Morris twins, Hall, so we may need some backs.

For a min contract let him train hard under Robbo for pre-season/play for the bears and earn a spot.

If you haven't seen him play, here is him last year for Wigan:

Listed as 180cm and 82kg. I doubt we would be interested in someone that small at centre.

we need to explore options. the morris boys and hall could all go at the end of this year. you'd figure they won't make firm decisions until later in the year.

Would prefer to see the Morris boys go around again.

Not bhed... NOT SO good size

A bit small... yes he's quick but he'll get pushed around easily

Joe Lydon was a very good, classy English Centre for us and "Chariots" Offiah, another one. Bobby Goulding?

183cm and 85kg... he's taller than Josh Morris and only a few kegs lighter.

I get that modern day centres look more like Latrell. However, he's big enough to do a decent job so long as he's got the right skills.

I hope so this guy is dead set very good ..can read the game ....has the hands of Johnny Brass .Deceptively strong for lightweight . Watching him play he would make a pretty good 5/8th .
Looks alright ...yeah might need to put on a few kilos.
                          Might be a winner

Oh God, no way! - OK bad choice of words for the bible basher Too many headlines, too much baggage and would command too much money.

I'd be happy to give Gildart a chance - he's only 23 and looks the goods from the little footage I've seen. Billy Smith hopefully will be 100% right by the start of next year (if not before) and maybe persevere with the likes of Kepaoa and Tuipulotu from the lower grades.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".
