Interesting. Look at Latrell as an example, to leave us he probably would have had to go to the Titans. It might promote more loyalty in players and clubs if it does anything.

They have a choice improve player development to have more players of nrl standard available or reduce number of teams - we all know there are too many teams in Sydney - what should happen when the agreement expires in 2022 is the following in Sydney

        Merges

Parra and Penrith - Western Sydney
        Souths / St George-Illawarra/ Cronulla - Southern Sydney-Illawarra
Canterbury/Wests Tigers - South Western Sydney and Macarthur
        Roosters - East Sydney/Eastern Suburbs
        Manly - Northern Sydney

5 Sydney clubs plus 4 Queensland sides(new team in Brisbane) plus Knights/Raiders/Storm/NZ - 13 Teams maybe one new one in Perth for 14 teams -2 full rounds-top 8

Sydney Teams can still field individual teams in a revamped reserve grade comp i.e Penrith and Parramatta can enter separate reserve grades sides.

Bring Back an under 23's comp instead of 20's

        Re-Draw Junior League Boundaries

Have junior development and pathway comps in the under 14's / Under 16's and Under 18 levels as well as investing in development and participation in local junior football to supplement this.

Just need someone with the vision to do this

I just want teams to be better so the footy is better. I won’t watch games involving half the teams these days. And they talk of expansion. That will just spread the talent even wider. There are already too many players playing who probably aren’t up to NRL standard.

In theory I like your plan. Two problems though

            1. No way will Souffs/St Merge and the Sharkes merge. Same with Parra and Penrith.

            2. With only 14 teams thats 7 games per week. Impacts the TV deals. Boardcasts and the NRL want expansion into newer time zones like Perth, but with new teams. If anything there will be more teams not less

Tonight’s games are both complete and absolute rubbish. How boring. I won’t be watching. 4 crap teams.
