These days you will have AUSTRAC on your back pressing AML/CTF charges for brown paper bag payments. I know a player agent who thinks it’s so dumb and he refuses to do it as he is a trained solicitor as well as ethical.

Weren’t some big player managers charged about 2 years ago? What happened to them?

I wonder if he talks about family life and his adult son's misadventures?

I gave up eating fish...too many dramas, too much confusion of sourcing, confusion as to where the fish is caught, then where it's sent for processing/packaging.

Except for canned sardines, I eat those.

I thought the Bobby Goulding saying he got paid with brown papers bag story was out years ago, so its a meh from me.

Just like the having pokies up in Jupiters or somewhere else in or around Brisbane having names on them like Gordan Tallis.

Most if not all clubs were doing the dodgy back in the 80s and throughout the 90s.

Before the salary cap clubs could pay players whatever they liked?
Had players working as doormen and cellarmen at licenced clubs on high wages?

              City Ford?
Nick offloaded City Ford long ago?
When Nick first sponsored the Roosters with City Ford, it was fine to give a player a free car?
Fine to give a player free use of a car the company owned, for the length of the player's contract?
Employ players at the company, a company car part of the package?
Install a new kitchen in a player's home?

Then came the salary cap, player sponsors, 3rd party sponsors.

I don’t care. I’ve been all over the world and guess what... fish come from water. It’s always been that way.

Without any hard evidence, this could be considered defamatory and libelous. On a side note, I went to function where a former queersland and Australian no. 6 spoke and he was proud to say that he and a fellow backrower were offered big money under the table by a certain club on the north side of Sydney harbour. Their contract with the QRL stated that their queersland club only had to match what was in their 'official' offer from the northern Sydney club, so they never played in the NSWRL comp.

A certain member of this forum used to run those very brown bags. Won’t name him but he is quite knowledgeable..

Plenty at the club have certainly started to notice.

Not sure what the back story is but expect more hit pieces from Tony over the coming months.
I’ve noticed that too. It’s becoming a bit tiresome, but he’s definitely looking to sick the knife in whenever he can these days.

I heard him on the radio the other day... sounded good. Tempting to have a read.

Would definitely choose his book over Malcolm Turnbull's whingefest if you're considering reading a biography over COVID-19 season.

My recollection is that Bobby Goulding never played a game here. He arrived to all sorts of expectations but for whatever reason he left for home almost immediately. Speculation at the time had it that he was homesick. Others claimed that after less than a week he decided that he didn't like the look of the joint. Some of those Northerners can be overly impetuous and emotional like Ade Morley for instance - what a time bomb.
