DT ...Kent has changed his mind.
In March he was predicting us to 3Peat.
    Now it's:
"Roosters to slide as Parramatta finish first".
"Shock new favourite as Premiers plummet."

    #####

No surpise to me, given all the changes.

He has to write something. Should he write that the Roosters are too good and other teams shouldn't show up?

So far this season we haven't been too good.
He's probably looked at all the changes that to many seem to shaft us, and formed his new opinion based on that.

What two games with a new halfback with the threat of the competition being closed? Does not mean a thing. We are a class team and there are not many others.

If it was the Roosters vs the field in 2020, you'd take the field in a heartbeat. But if you were forced to back any single team to win the 2020 comp I'd also pick the Roosters in a heartbeat.

Again, let's not focus on what we've lost and remember what we've got. The game's best player, the best 5/8, the best centre pairing, two world class wingers, the game's best front row pairing, 3 or 4 world class backrowers including the NSW & Aus captain, a world class hooker plus a Premiership winning young gun as his understudy. The game's best coach.

Sure it'll be an incredible challenge but after what we achieved in 2019 you'd be mad to count out this team. Especially with the pressure off and expectations low.

Let the Eels, Raiders and Broncos hog the limelight. Meanwhile we'll fly under the radar and give the 3peat a serious shake. Good luck to any challenger facing us in a Prelim or GF because I know who I'd rather be.

Both Penriff and chip stealers had a lot of luck to just beat us. Everyone talks about the Keary blown try but most seem to have forgotten the 2 legitimate tries we had disallowed, one of which was a real pineapple call by the bunker (and had Robbo blowing up in the coach's box).

Cmon easts!!
Whichever way you look at it this is going to be the hardest comp that any team will ever win, for starters home ground advantage means very little (apart from not having to travel) no fans, teams lift with big support case in point with Brisbane, Parramatta, The Shit Stain, our first ten games are against,

                Shit Stain
                Brisbane
                Canterbury
                Parramatta
                St. George Illawarra
                Melbourne
                North Queensland
                Canberra
                New Zealand
                Gold Coast

We play two proven teams in our first ten matches Melbourne and Canberra, the rest should not trouble Easts, in fact between the other 8 teams they have a combined total of 13 finals games (which Shit stain make up 6 for a 2-4 record) Parramatta rack up points against nobodies their record against top 5 teams last year 3-5 including a 54 point drubbing to Melbourne (64-10) for a combined total of 132 points for 229 against and they were held to zero twice by Canberra and Melbourne the rest are not worth writing about they have everything to prove.
The key here for Robbo is to flick the finals run switch from the start we should win 8 of those matches which would leave us 8-4 by round 12, if we lose to Melbourne and Canberra which is a very real possibility.

                We then face.

                St. George Illawarra
                Melbourne
                Wests Tigers
                Brisbane
                Canberra
                Newcastle
                Cronulla
                Shit Stain

Again take out Melbourne and Canberra the rest are cannon fodder my prediction with a fully fit team firing and ready to go from this Friday we should be 14-6 3rd or 4th like I said if Easts are in finals survival mode from the onset this draw based on the teams we face isn’t as tough as most people think.

The cream rises to the top ladies and gentleman and it will be no different this time around. Enjoy the season ahead.

Meh, I just care about getting our first win on the board... preferably against Souffs! It'll be tough but I'm quietly confident that our 'working from home' systems were top notch.

I mean we're all in inner-Sydney and there were no dramas! The Morris brothers were close family members + a group of 2 or less so they were out training together the whole time. I trust that all our forwards were training the roof down in the gym. Guys like Cords + Hall will be fully healed too as a result of the shut-down.

My only scare is that our performance relies on good combinations. IMO a few teams will roll over us with a combination of big forwards and ad-hoc, hot potato football. We'll get better but we always have a lot of stupid losses like that, particularly early on in the year.

Yep I give zero fark who the media reckons will win. All that matters is which team is able to win when it counts. Nobody can predict that now and just because somebody's got their own column, doesn't mean they can predict the future. If they could, they wouldn't be writing columns...

I've heard a lot of people suggest Canberra will do well this year. They are the team I am tipping to go backwards in a dramatic fashion.

I dont think that will be the last time we get those types of calls this year

Why do many people think the rule changes will benefit other teams more than us? We have players with speed to burn who can take advantage of new rules and quick play the ball. Verrills will be huge. Radley will have a ball. SST and butcher and Crichton are speedy and can offload one the tick as can JWH. Tedesco’s best work is following up through the middle and exposing tired forwards. Toupo is no slouch and neither is Manu.
ladies and gentlemen we are well equipped to handle anything they throw at us and we will be in the race for the title .

To be honest I'm just happy that we'll see any footy this year and whoever wins the GF will deserve it after the year that's been. Unless it's the Filthy Vermin (which I doubt) and then it's another rort like 2014.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
