"TRAIN WRECK" screams the back page of the Tele today.

If our players arrive on Monday morning for the biosecurity meeting with the Club, and don't understand what it's all about, their homes don't meet the required standard, or they aren't happy with anything, .....our club officials would help them, wouldn't they, so all our players could attend training on Tuesday?
Our players don't have to worry about being ripped off or not getting paid whatever is agreed upon, if things change after Mon?
Surely our club is not going to self-destruct.
Apparently some club bosses/officials are getting very angry.

Also, does it really matter if the players resume training on Thurs instead of Tues, after they've had a chance to
consider all the strict rules etc?
    It's only 2 sleeps.
V'landys' policy seems to me to be fair enough.

Young women roaming the streets drinking and looking for some action, Sexting, Tinder, shaved nether regions - things have certainly changed since I were a lad but then my timing has always been seriously and tragically off.

I found your "What women want" list interesting BB, but numerous studies indicate that they want the simple things - a man who is easy on the eye, who takes care with his grooming and wardrobe, is sensitive, empathic and happy to share at all times. The problem that surveys identify, however, is that most of those blokes have already got a boyfriend - not that theres anything wrong with that!

Apparently it's not all about money.
One sticking point is that a flu shot is going to be compulsory for all players..but some of the players are anti- vaxxers.
There's talk that those players might be allowed to be 'conscientious objectors'.

One thing that has been driven home during this covid times, is that most of the players don't care about others in the club, except other players.

That's, some of the players in the NRL are anti-vaxxers. Not in our club in particular, not in our club at all, maybe.
The Tele article just says "some of the players" when mentioning the Players Association and the NRL.

Warriors hooker didn't make the trip today...
"first player to be stood down amid Covid-19 guidelines."
Woke up this morning feeling sick.
Sore throat, failed the screening test.

The NRL will be incrediably lucky if they kick off the reason & go right through with no hick ups. Surely 1 player will fark up.

I wouldn't like to be the one who does.
There would be nowhere to hide.

What happens if a player tests positive? [went shopping, touched an infected surface, touched his face, got the virus.]
Said player was infected, no symptoms yet, and played a match/maybe 2?

                    V'landys is on it -

“Every player participated in an education day which explained our strict biosexuality protocols to ensure players understand what they can and cannot do."

It will be a shame if the comp kicks off & then has to stop again. The people who work at the NRL are working their arse's off to get this juggernaut happening again & it wont take much to put it off balance so I just hope for their sake & for all us League lovers that things turn out.

There is consideration being given to playing regular 'trial' matches during the season, made up of composite teams from players in the top 30 but not in top 17 for that week.

Something like this needs to happen...these guys can't just train and sit all year. Robbo is keen, as are other Coaches.

To be discussed at next Apollo meet this week.

Very good Zac. There was another wordplay one you used recently too made me larf, can't place it right now.

A link, then more than a few lines of text, for the benefit of those who don't have access to the DT today. Today, a very important day in the history of rugby League, the NRL.

                                https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...f0903b485a298d

The cash-strapped NRL is just days away from securing a stunning new TV broadcast deal worth up to $2.3 billion, the richest in Australia’s sporting history.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Channel 9 and Fox Sports are on the verge of agreeing to a lucrative seven-year contract that will lift rugby league from a financial scrapheap, safeguard the game’s long-term viability and guarantee the survival of all 16 clubs.

Independent commission chairman Peter V’landys is hoping to reach an agreement in principal by Friday for the remaining three years of the current contract plus a four-season extension until 2027.

It would be the most lucrative broadcast deal in the history of Australian sport, averaging out at almost $330 million a season – a remarkable outcome given the long-term global financial uncertainty over the COVID-19 crisis.

The contract will be heavily discounted for this season because of the reduction to 20 rounds although the NRL is expecting ratings to increase because fans cannot attend the venues.

After weeks of uncertainty over Channel 9’s position with their free-to-air, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the network has been forced back into negotiations with an improved offer because of a fierce public backlash over their threats to abandon the game.

Gotta love a fierce public backlash.
