Another good case for having a prompter, even if just reading the words from cards in your hand.
When Elton John sang live at Diana's funeral "Goodbye England's Rose" to 'Candle in the Wind' he said there was no way he was not going to use a prompter or whatever they're called.

I have no idea how artists remember all the words to any songs.
Poor Elton wrote that with not a lot of time to spare. He had only recently gone to Gianni Versace's funeral with Diana and not long after had to attend her own funeral. Bernie Taupin usually writes all his lyrics as most people know and it must be awful performing at a friend's funeral. I bought that CD and will never get rid of it. Nick Cave performed at Michael Hutchence's funeral and he did not want the TV cameras on him during that time and fair enough too. Ok this is getting spooky now. Michael just came up on my shuffle with Jimmy Barnes...

Sheeshhh....how have we got to this? A serious discussion about the sway that myth should exert on us, especially one with the political implications of ANZAC- ery, has morphed into a dreary to and fro-ing on one of the least interesting topics imaginable - Pop music and memory thereof! It certainly gives food for thought - read the Tele and shut up. That other serious stuff is nothing to do with me or you.
Here we have a trio or so of our fellow fans wanting to sound hip but succeeding only in identifying themselves as Silly Ol' Buggers still thrilling to twats like Barnsey and Elton John. Hellooo guys...21st Century is here and there are issues. The 3peat for one.

JFC is one of my closest friends, I consider him to be like a family member to be honest, and he doesn't seem to have a problem with the conversations we are having on HIS thread so I am not sure why some are complaining. If you don't like the content, don't post. It's simple! Some of us have been a member of this forum for over 10 years and we don't need blowins telling us what we can and cannot talk about. It's not that kind of forum.

Hope I'm not out of line RWB but have you ever listened to Nathan Rateliff &the Night sweats. American, bit funky, pretty mellow, bit different. Bluesy, folksy sound from the South. I think it might be something you'd like, I love em.. You Tube them if you get a chance. Lots a great songs, some are a little out there. Favourites are "You Worry Me", "But its Still Alright" , "Hey Mama" and a bit more up tempo Son of a Bitch Get Me a Drink .... SOB". Cheers.

That's nice thanks RWB. As Thirteen said elsewhere it is great to have you back on the Pen.

I don't really understand what the Paddo fella is even saying in that latest post. He appears to have some issues and maybe, in some crazy way, he gets some therapy from giving fans a whack on here. Not a real happy chappy obviously. .

Yes the music commentary is fine and anything to entertain, engage, amuse or support each other in these times is where it's at.

Yes please take no notice of the goose and keep up the posts because to most of us they are of interest to get to know the person behind the keyboard , I'm very new here myself only recently discovered the site and believe it to be much more than just a forum about footy , it's also about people , they lives are a massive part of that

Here is one for your namesake RWB, wouldn’t be a bad rooster song too with a few lyric changes.

When our military was leaving for Afghanistan and Iraq, Raaay played that song on his morning show. He was deluged with requests for it.
He played it often in support for our armed forces personnel.
Foxy News used to play it too, but used to omit parts of it.

                              haha, thanks big jack

Actually the first time I heard that song, it came on when we were travelling back to Canberra from the Souths semi last year, I was instantly hooked, Toby Keith got some cracker songs I found out, I’m a big fan now.

I though it would be good to play when we score a try against the opposition “brought to you courtesy, of the red, white and blue”

Wow didn’t realise how old that song was, here I am thinking this is a year old, at least I won’t get sick of it or Toby Keith for a while now
