ah, yes now I remember why I stopped coming on here...lots of angry bored lonely middle aged men with too much time on their hands taking cheap shots at one another...I'll come back in another 50 years..This reminds me of when Elaine on Seinfeld says "I'm getting married...in 50 years!"

Abusive angry comments are just individuals exercising their rights to freedom of speech. The Chookpen has become a bit nastier the past few months and a lot less tolerant. There’s been a lot more political ‘discussion’ even before the recent escalation of the Covid-19 crisis. Welcome back.

Thanks for that. It’s a crap time for us all really with everyone of us affected in some way by this health crisis, whether it be possible deaths, illness or loss of income etc. At the moment everything is just so unknown and I can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve also edited my previous post and added the sarcasm emoji to avoid any confusion.

So V'landys thinks he can start the game on July 1st? It hasn't even been two full weeks since things were shut down in Australia. Very bullish and egotistical to think it can be done. If there is a location where the teams can stay, train and play that may be a possibility.

Thank you MR and I am so very sorry for your family troubles. I know I said I was not coming back on here for 50 years but I would like to help anyone who would like to have their CV/resume updated or proof read or formatted. I've been lucky enough to have my redundancy postponed and still have work coming in which is a lot more than most people at the moment. I also have a wonderful immediate boss who does not want me to leave the company and has gone out of his way to reformat my own resume and give me some tips so I would like to in turn help someone else who may need this . I can help with setting up a Seek profile and also a Linkedin profile if need be and also help with finding a good recruitment company to assist as I work in a closely associated industry.

It can be done.
If it's going to be done, all players must be made self isolate at home, starting now, then flown to the location/s where the quarantined NRL isolation camps/grounds are, in plenty of time to settle in, train, and be ready to go on July1.
Ditto all officials, staff, doctors, physios etc.
Can't have people in the towns around these venues coming and going into the area.

They should have taken the appropriate actions before the shutdown. It was obvious to anyone with even the smallest brain and lowest intellect that not only was the regular NRL season going to be suspended, but also most events of 2020. If there is another chance and they are determined to play, they must take immediate and precise actions to have a chance. If legal, then test, isolate, carry on and stay isolated. Its a big ask on the players and staff but they will get their money and get to play.
